Chapter 133
POV: Serene
205
The sun was rising slowly. Soft light came through the curtains, touching everything with gold. I opened my eyes and felt warmth beside me.
Damian was still there–his body next to mine, chest rising and falling with calm breaths.
He was alive.
And better.
His skin wasn’t cold like before. His breathing wasn’t shallow. He felt warm. Real. Steady.
I stayed still for a while, just watching him. He looked peaceful. Strong, even while resting. His sharp jaw, the lines of his face, the way his hair fell messily over his forehead… everything about him made my heart ache
I reached out and touched his face gently, brushing my fingers along his jaw. “Thank you,” I whispered, thinking he was asleep. “Thank you for
saving me. For staying. For always showing up.”
I swallowed a lump in my throat. “You’ve always been my peace… even when everything else felt like chaos.”
There was a small shift.
Before I could move back, a low, teasing voice answered, “If I knew you talk like this when I’m sleeping, I would’ve pretended longer.”
My heart jumped. “Damian!”
His eyes opened slowly, and that familiar half–smile pulled at his lips. “Good morning, little star.”
“You-” I froze, then hit his chest lightly. “Don’t scare me like that!”
He groaned dramatically, placing his hand over his chest. “Ow…”
I panicked immediately. “I’m sorry! Did I hurt you? Are you okay?”
He chuckled, and it filled the room. “You’re adorable when you panic.”
Tears stung my eyes before I could stop them. I leaned down, wrapped my arms around him, and pressed my face into his neck.
“You can’t joke like that,” I whispered. “I thought I lost you.”
He held me tightly, one hand in my hair, the other around my back. “You didn’t lose me, Serene. I’m here. I’m not leaving. I never will.”
He kissed the top of my head.
I melted into him.
A soft knock came at the door a few minutes later.
This time, no one barged in. It was quiet. Careful.

Then a familiar voice spoke.
“It’s Mira. May 1 come in, Alpha?”
Damian looked at the door and said, “Enter.”

His voice was different now. Stronger. Powerful. Even though he was weak the Alpha in him had returned. The way he spoke made the air shift. Commanding. Calm. Dangerous.
The door opened and Mira stepped in, holding something in her hands. Her face was pale, her eyes wide.
“They’ve arrived,” she said softly.
“Who?” I asked.
Damian stood slowly with my help, straightening his shoulders. Even injured, he looked like a king rising from battle.
“My pack,” he said simply. “My wolves.”
We walked into the large open room together. Damian leaned on me slightly, but no one would ever call him weak. His presence filled the space the second we entered.
Then I saw them.
At least ten of them, dressed in black and silver, some wearing thick coats, others with weapons strapped to their belts. They looked like warriors from another world. Sharp eyes. Hard expressions. No fear.
And when they saw Damian…
They all dropped to one knee.
Every single one.
“Alpha,” the one in front said, his head bowed.
I felt chills. They didn’t care that Damian was hurt. They didn’t care he had just nearly died. He was their Alpha–and to them, that meant
everything.
Damian lifted his head. His voice was deep and full of power. “Rise.”
They stood, eyes sharp. Alert. Loyal.
One of them stepped forward. A woman.
She was tall, muscular, with deep brown skin and long braids tied behind her. Her gaze was hard, but her voice was smooth.
“Who touched you, Alpha?” she asked.
“No one touches my Alpha and breathes.”

“The enemies,” Damian said, “want Aleoria. But they can’t have it while she’s alive. They want to break the bond between us. Once that’s done, they’ll try to use her blood to open the gates.”
The wolves growled.
The pack growled in agreement, low and dangerous.
My heart thudded in my chest.
The other wolves growled.
“They cursed him,” she said. “They tried to kill him through the bond. That is war.”
“Then we hunt. We find the source. We find Aleoria.”
“No!” I stepped forward before I could stop myself.,
Everyone looked at me.
The wolves stared at me. Testing me. Waiting.
My hands were shaking, but I held my ground.
“If we attack blindly, we lose everything. You want to protect the Alpha? Then follow his bond’s wisdom. We need to find Aleoria first.”
The woman narrowed her eyes.
And then Damian spoke. “She is my bond. She is the blood of Aleoria. Her voice is law.”
The wolves slowly bowed their heads again. Not as deep, but enough. They accepted me.
