Writer’s POV
The van rolled into the underground garage like a ghost slipping into
its grave. It was quiet–eerily quiet. No voices. No engines. Only the
steady hum of fluorescent lights hanging above cold concrete floors.
The air was damp with mildew and secrets.
Tires screeched lightly as the vehicle halted. A pair of steel doors slid
open at the far end, and two figures in black masks emerged from the
shadows, their boots echoing faintly on the ground.
The rear doors opened. Selene was still unconscious, her body limp,
her wrists bruised slightly from the tight restraints.
“She’s lighter than she looks,” one of the masked men muttered,
grunting as he lifted her into his arms
The other nodded, already turning toward the hallway. “She’ll wake
soon. Let’s not waste time.”
They carried her through a long corridor of whitewashed cement
walls and harsh lighting. At the end waited a thick metal door,
reinforced with several locking mechanisms. One of them entered a

code. The other scanned his palm.
Click. Buzz. Hiss.
The door opened, revealing a sterile white room. No windows. Just a
metal–framed bed bolted to the floor, padded restraints, and security
cameras tucked neatly into the corners–watching everything..
They placed Selene gently onto the bed. A flicker of hesitation passed
through one of them before he tightened the cuffs around her wrists
and ankles.
“She’s secure,” he said, stepping back.
The door closed behind them with a final, unforgiving clang.
Back at the mansion, chaos was organized. The estate was on full
lockdown. Security barriers sealed off every entrance and exit. Halls
that were once quiet echoed with hurried footsteps and clipped
orders.
In the war room, Mira was pacing.
She looked like a storm in motion–her hair a mess, phone in hand,
eyes darting between monitors and the tablet balanced in her palm.
She hadn’t changed out of the clothes she wore to the shopping mall,

and her lipstick was smudged. Her concern was raw and visible.
“She has to be chipped,” one of the techs said, voice hopeful but
shaky.
“She is,” Damian’s voice thundered as he stepped into the room, the
air thickening instantly with his presence. “But the signal’s gone.”
“Gone?” Mira turned, her eyes wide.
“Wiped,” Damian muttered. He wasn’t out of breath, but he looked
like he’d been running through hell since the second Mira called him.
“Someone disabled the tracker. They didn’t just take her–they erased
her.”
Mira’s eyes narrowed. “They knew what they were doing.”
“Too well,” Damian said darkly.
He stared at the screen in front of him where multiple street cams
played on loop. They had traced the vehicle that Selene was in until it
disappeared off the grid, swallowed by a blind spot in the city’s
surveillance system. A dead zone.
“I knew something was wrong,” Damian said, running a hand through
his hair. “She asked to go shopping. Selene hates shopping unless

she’s pissed.”
“She just wanted to get out,” Mira said quietly, connecting the dots.
