The Alpha's Mafia Luna novel Chapter 70

Chapter 70

The silence in the mansion was deafening. Not peaceful. Not serene.

Justloud. A silence that screamed in my ears as I lay beside the

man I was starting to trust, the man I thought might actually love me.

Damian Voss.

The name made my chest tighten.

He was sleeping peacefully beside me, his arm carelessly draped over

the bed, lips parted slightly as if he hadn’t a care in the world.

Meanwhile, I was drowning in my thoughts.

Naia’s words haunted me. Her eyesshocked, broken, angrykept

flashing in my mind. You don’t even know the amount of damage

Alpha Damian has caused.

I turned away from him, unable to breathe under the weight of it all.

Something wasn’t right. Something about her tone. Her urgency.

And now, I couldn’t sleep.

I got up quietly, slipping out of the room like a shadow. The robe I

wore barely shielded me from the coldness of the hall, but the

numbness inside me was stronger than the chill in the air.

Damian’s office door was slightly ajar. I had never truly stepped

inside alone. Not without him.

My trembling fingers wrapped around the knob, and I pushed it open

fully. The scent of his cologne and leatherbound books wrapped

around me. This placewas so him. Clean, dark, calculated.

And dangerous.

His laptop sat open on the desk.

Unlocked.

As if inviting me.

Or daring me.

I hesitated only for a second before walking over and sitting down.

My heart thundered in my chest as I scanned the desktop. One folder

stood out like a slap in the face.

Blood Moon.

I clicked it.

Reports. Surveillance images. Strategic notes.

I clicked again.

A detailed mission outline popped up on the screen.

Target: Alpha Ronin Evernight Eliminate

Location: Blood Moon Territory

Commander Assigned: Taurus

Client: Alpha Damian Voss

I froze.

No. No, this couldn’t be real.

But the signature was there.

Damian’s.

Further files included scanned letters, payment receipts, and time-

stamped communication logs between him and Taurus.

My vision blurred with tears. I blinked rapidly, my chest tightening,

throat dry. I couldn’t move, couldn’t think. Every shred of trust I had

built in him came crashing down in pieces around me.

He didn’t just know who I was.

He planned this.

He ordered the death of my father. My pack. My people. All to take me

and make me his Luna.

The betrayal carved itself into my bones.

I stood on shaking legs and stumbled out of the office like a ghost,

my feet guiding me to the kitchen. I didn’t know what I was doing

until I opened a drawer and pulled out a knife. Cold steel met my

fingers.

And with it, a searing determination.

I climbed the stairs, my breath shallow, my body trembling with quiet

rage.

He was still asleep.

How could he sleep?

I stood over him for a moment, watching him, studying the rise and

fall of his chest, the shape of his lipslips that had kissed me. Lied to

  1. me.

My knees sank onto the bed, and I straddled his waist, pressing the

knife to his chest.

His eyes fluttered open, confused and dazed.

Serene?he mumbled. Are you feeling horny again or something?

What are y-

I pressed the blade tighter.

His words died.

I should just kill you, Damian Voss,I whispered, my voice shaky but

filled with venom.

He stared up at me, eyes wide now, fully awake.

What the hell?he muttered, his body stiffening. Put the knife

down, Serene. It’s not what you think.

You killed my father!I snapped, tears slipping down my cheeks.

You massacred my entire pack! Everything I hadyou destroyed it!

I didn’t know you were royaltyyour scent was off!he said quickly.

I didn’t know until Taurus brought you-

Liar!I yelled, shaking the knife. You planned this from the start!

It’s all in your files. Your mission reports, your payment receipts-

your signature, Damian!

I can explain—!

I screamed and tried to press the knife down harder, but in his panic,

Damian reached up, grabbing the knife. We struggled. His strength

overpowered mine. I lost my grip, and the blade flew across the room,

clattering under a chair.

Then, everything spun.

His elbow nudged me off balance and I fell hard to the floor with a

painful thud.

The impact knocked the wind out of me.

I groaned, trying to get up, but Damian lunged to his feet.

I saw the knife and scrambled toward it.

Serene, stop!he called, his voice full of alarm.

But I didn’t stop.

I couldn’t.

Hatred and rage fueled me. I crawled toward the knife, my hands

scraping against the floor, heart pounding. I was almost there-

Damian dove and kicked it.

The knife slid under the bed, out of reach.

I sat up slowly, panting, then scoffed, laughing dryly. Wow. Killed my

father and still won’t let me hold a damn knife.

Serene,he said, breathless. Please. Let’s just talk. Don’t do this.

You don’t know the whole story-

Oh, I don’t?I barked, pushing myself up. You planned my pack’s extermination! What more is there to know?

I didn’t know it was you!he said again, gripping his hair. It was supposed to be a rogue extermination!
