The door creaked open, and Mira stepped inside, her eyes narrowing
instantly at the tension in the room. She froze when she saw me –
standing there with a gun in my trembling hands, pointed straight at
Damian, who sat shirtless in bed, frozen with one hand midair like he
was trying to reach for something.
“I heard noises…” Mira started, her voice cracking slightly. Her gaze
darted between us, then stopped cold at the weapon. “What the hell is
going on?”
“Perfect,” I laughed bitterly, the sound hollow and jagged in my
throat. “Now we’re all here.”
Damian’s chest rose and fell slowly, cautiously, like he was afraid to
breathe too fast. I could see his jaw clench, his lips parted slightly,
eyes never leaving the gun.
“You move this way,” I said, motioning Mira with the gun’s barrel.
“Serene…” she whispered, lifting both hands slightly in a placating
gesture. “Put that down. You don’t want to do this.”
“Don’t tell me what I want!” I snapped, the metal shaking in my grip.

Mira hesitated, then slowly moved beside Damian as I’d instructed.
“What are you doing, Serene?” she asked again, softer now. “What
happened?”
I looked at Damian. “Tell her. Go on. Tell Mira how you murdered my
father.”
Damian flinched like I’d struck him. Mira’s brows pulled together in
confusion.
“Serene, what are you talking about?” Mira asked.
“You don’t believe me?” My voice cracked. “I saw it! His files. His
laptop. His phone. He sent Taurus. It was all a plan. He wanted me for
himself. Wanted me as his Luna. So he wiped out my pack. My
family.”
Damian opened his mouth, but I screamed before he could speak.
“Don’t you dare say it’s not what I think! You killed him! You
destroyed my whole life!”
The tears burst free now, streaming down my face. My vision blurred, but I still held the gun steady.
Damian moved, trying to inch closer, hands out in a calming gesture.

“Serene, please…”
“Don’t!” I shouted.
He lunged.
I panicked and stepped back. In the scuffle, his arm hit mine and the
gun flew from my grip. The cold click of it hitting the floor echoed in
the room. At the same time, I stumbled backward and fell hard
against the side table, knocking over the lamp. It shattered.
“Serene!” Damian rushed toward me.
I scrambled to my feet and saw the knife glinting under the bed. I
dove for it, crawling forward with rage pulsing through me.
But he was faster.
Damian kicked the knife further beneath the bed just as my fingers
brushed the handle. I sat there for a heartbeat, breathless, staring at
the shadows.
“You have to stop this,” Damian said breathlessly, his voice low but
firm. “Let’s talk this out.”
I laughed again – cold, broken. “Talk?” I turned to him, eyes full of

betrayal. “The time for talking passed the moment you decided my
life wasn’t worth sparing.”
I stood, backing away slowly.
Then I remembered something else.
I turned and ran toward the side drawer of his cabinet, yanking it
–
open. There it was the smaller pistol. I grabbed it, spinning to face
them again.
“No, Serene!” Mira screamed.
I raised the gun again, breathing heavily. Mira stood in front of
Damian now, eyes wide with panic.
“What are you doing?” she asked again.
“You knew,” I said coldly. “You both knew. You brought me here. You
smiled in my face. You pretended to care while I was sleeping next to
the man who ruined my life.”
Mira shook her head, tears forming in her eyes. “No, I didn’t. I didn’t
know this–Serene, please believe me.”
I was trembling all over. My legs couldn’t hold me anymore.

“I hate you,” I whispered, looking at Damian. “I hate you for making
me fall for you.”
Damian didn’t speak. Not a word. He just stood there, bare–chested,
