Chapter 118
Jason’s POV
“Go home, William,” I said to the angry werewolf currently seething on my front porch “Get out of here.”
“No,” William said. “Not until we fight this out.
“There is nothing to fight about.”
“You slept with my fiancé,” William growled. His eyes flashed dangerously, which irritated my own wolf, who began to pace inside of me. With all the self-loathing and pent up anger inside of me, my wolf was eager to fight almost as much as William seemed to be.
But I knew how pointless that would be. “Why are you angry at me? Vanessa is the one who caused this. She is the one who put something in my drink.”
William chuffed. “Like hell, she did that. Just another one of your lies. You just wanted some comfort, didn’t you? Before you have to marry a woman you don’t love. Vanessa looks enough like Laila, right? She could get your rocks off for you.”
A growl escaped the back of my throat. “Keep Laila’s name out of your mouth.”
I was angry by what he said, but more so, I hated how close he was to the truth. I had been drugged. I was acting out of character. But in the moment, I had thought Vanessa was Laila, and I’d wanted her.
“You seduced Vanessa. You took advantage of her soft heart. Then you wanted to blame her for it, so no one knew your part. But I know. And now I’m going to make you pay for it.”
“You don’t want to do this, William,” I warned him. “I’m an Alpha. I’m bigger and stronger than you. If you start this, you won’t like how it ends.”
“Then why aren’t you agreeing to fight, huh? If you are so big and powerful, let’s see you actually do something.” He backed up a few steps, into the front yard. “Come on, you asshole. I deserve recompense from you! For what you’ve done!”
“What I’ve done?” I couldn’t ignore this challenge any longer and started cracking my knuckles as I came down the front steps, following William into the yard. “I hope you know what you are getting yourself into. I won’t go easy on you.”
“So confident,” William snapped. He took a fighting stance. “Why don’t you worry about yourself?”
“Very well,” I said. I stretched a little as I approached but then I just stood there. Unlike William, I didn’t bother with a fighting stance. This was an insult in and of itself, and William seemed to know that. Any werewolf would.
He glared at me even fiercer. Then, as if egged on by my confidence, surged forward to attack me.
I ducked out of the way as he came flying by me.

Seemingly without thinking, he swung back around and came for me again, like a rampaging bull.
