Delta reached out, cupped my face with both of her hands. “I never stopped looking for you. I never stop you.”

She was saying the words with so much emotion. Tears welled and fell from her eyes.

“My darling daughter, you are so much more than I could have ever hoped for. I only wish I had gotten to you better.”

There was time now, wasn’t there? Hope fluttered in my chest.

I didn’t fully understand how this could be, but I was so willing to accept it. I knew, deep down in my ches before she had said the words – this woman was my mother.
