If I perceived that Laila was still in the building, like I suspected her to be, I had no qualms against run there. I didn’t care what happened to me. I would do whatever I needed to face any kind of danger to – to save her.

“It appears as if you might need one as well, Jason,” Richard said, appearing from behind me.

He seemed cool and collected, but I could detect the way he was panting, trying to hide it. He must have shifte and chased after me. I had been so focused on Laila, I hadn’t thought to check if anyone was behind me.
