Chapter 17: The Scary Decision

*MELENA*

“I thought of a way to save you, young she-wolf. But the only way I could think of saving you is to be punished instead of going with Alexander.

I howled softly to her, wanting to take the punishment instead of going with him. Suddenly, I felt my body start to change. I was now resting within her lap, naked.

“I will take the punishment,” I spoke softly to her. I still have problems pronouncing my words correctly because of not talking for ten years now.

I saw her turn her head sideways while tears ran down her cheek.

“She Wolf,” she said.

“Melena,” I said to her. “My name is Melena Hapstan.

She paused for a minute, staring at me with great concern.

“You have a beautiful name,” she said as she tried to smile.

She ran her hand through my white hair as she sobbed.

“I’d rather let you go with Alexander than for you to take the punishment,” she said.

“No,” I disagreed with her.

I was willing to do anything rather than go with that bastard.

“I can’t,” Eutis said. “You can die being punished.”

I shook my head, refusing to listen to her. I would rather die than go with him. Who knows what he’ll do to me?

“My choice,” I said to her.

“She doesn’t belong to you nor to anyone!” Eutis shouted back.

Alexander was even angrier hearing this. He turned his attention to Alpha Strider. Alpha Strider informed him he could not do anything about it if I chose the punishment.

But still I was scared. I didn’t know what the punishment was.

Liam then glanced at me and said, scornfully, “Taking the punishment won’t allow him to take me into his pack.”

I was startled, hearing him say that.

“I want to see her punished for breaking into my house before I leave!” Alexander shouted.

Alpha Strider came up to me and grabbed me with great force. He pinned me to the floor. Placing a chain around my neck, he pulled me from the floor.

“Take time with her!” Eutis shouted from her tears.
