Chapter 8: Seeking Help, Gone Wrong
*MELENA*
I close my eyes, terrified.
I felt a strong breeze against my face, and I reopened my eyes and saw that he was gone.
I was now alone, as always, within a strange land I knew nothing about, with an unknown black wolf seeming to dwell here.
I wished I had stayed at the cave I once called home. I was much safer there, even though I would have
died of hunger.
I got up from where I was in search of a place I could conceal myself from predators until tomorrow; I leave this strange land.
The thought of sleeping in the opening tonight made me determined to find a place to rest. I was still exhausted from the chase, and I wasn’t planning on resting until I did.
Abruptly, out of nowhere, I heard sounds of laughter. I hid behind some nearby bushes and peeked to see who it was. I saw a group of children playing near a river. They were splashing the water against each other’s bodies playfully. They looked as if they were about 8 or 9.
Happy to see someone less frightening. I jumped out of the bush and ran to meet them.
They were terrified of seeing me and shifted into their wolf form quickly, fleeing away.
“Wait.” I chase them, not wanting them to leave me.
I wanted them to bring me to their pack, where I could seek help.
“Please stop. I’m not going to hurt you.” I continue to chase them, but they keep running, refusing to
listen to me.
I followed them onto a huge land filled with houses. I froze at its beauty.
I began to walk, looking around the place. Suddenly, I was shoved to the ground by the black wolf that had saved me. Though he attacked me from behind and I was unable to see his face. I know it was him. I remembered his pleasant scent of beechwood.
I was now lying on my back as he sank his sharp claws within me. I cried and twisted my body to escape from him, but he was too strong.
He growls at me, and I feel his saliva drop onto the top of my head. I was then bitten on my shoulder. I screamed out.
I push my head to one of his feet and bite him back, allowing him to let me go. But that was the wrong thing I did. He gripped me by my neck with his mouth, and I was sent flying into the bushes, hitting my head against a tree.

I opened my eyes slowly, regaining consciousness after being tossed into a tree. I tried to stand on my four feet as I did, and I was frightened to realize I was no longer within my wolf form.
My vision was still blurry from being unconscious. Blinking to clear my vision, my eyes moved towards a blurry white and blue image before me.
The blurriness was clearing up as I continued to stare at the object in front of me.
Finally, I was able to see clearly, and I was shocked to see it was the alpha whose house I had broken into, standing in front of the bar of the cell I was locked in.
Immediately, I dashed towards the wall and curled up, using my long hair to hide my nakedness. I was terrified, knowing he would stop at nothing to have me, like any man who had seen my beautiful human
form.
