Chloe sat there, her sweaty palms clenched tight.

Patrick’s eyes weren’t big, but nothing escaped them.

Eric must’ve been a little too obvious when he came in, and Patrick definitely picked up on it.

Chloe took a quiet breath and said, “I’ll take the forfeit.”

But just as Chloe spoke, Ian and Eric both jumped in at the same time. “I’ll take her forfeit.”

All three of them reached for a glass at once.

Chloe glanced at Eric, then at Ian, and without hesitation, she tipped her head back and downed the shot.

Right after, Eric and Ian finished off the other two glasses.

They set their glasses down and sat back in their seats, none of them saying a word.

An awkward silence fell over the room.

Mia noticed and jumped in to break the tension. “Hey Chloe, it’s your turn.”

Chloe really wasn’t up for it. “Blair, can you take my turn?”

Blair stepped up and spun the bottle for her.

The bottle stopped, pointing straight at Eric.

Blair grinned at Eric. “Eric, I heard you’ve been turning down all those blind dates your family keeps setting up. So, is there someone you like?”

Eric shot a quick glance at Chloe, then said softly, “You got it. I do have someone I like.”
