Chloe took Mia’s arm and started walking away.
Andrea called out, “Ms. Hamilton, please wait.”
:
Mia stopped in her tracks, and Chloe turned back as well.

Andrea stood before them and pulled down her mask. Her gaze lingered on Chloe for a few seconds before shifting to Mia.
Andrea said, “Ms. Hamilton, I don’t think I ever did anything to offend you. Why are you always treating me like this?”
Mia sighed, her tone arrogant. “It’s not me who doesn’t like you. It’s my brother, okay?”
Andrea’s eyes flickered, and she tried to sound more conciliatory. “Ms. Hamilton, there really is a misunderstanding between Ian and me. Can you help me get a chance to talk to him?”
Mia couldn’t help but scoff. “Do you want to see lan? No way.”
Andrea was frustrated. She shoved Chloe and Mia aside, striding past them.
Chloe sighed, and just as she and Mia were about to leave, they saw Margaret getting out of her car.
Chloe didn’t have a particularly strong opinion about Margaret.
Margaret saw Mia and walked over. “Hi, Ms. Hamilton.”
Before Margaret could finish, Andrea lunged forward and slapped her hard across the face. “Bitch.”
The slap and Andrea’s yell left everyone completely shocked.
Chloe instinctively pulled Mia back a few steps.
Mia, totally freaked out, grabbed Chloe’s arm and wouldn’t let I go.
She thought, ‘Andrea actually hit Margaret. Has she lost her mind?’
Margaret snapped out of it and whacked Andrea on the head with her designer bag, demanding, “Who gave you the right to hit me?”
Margaret looked Andrea up and down, still totally clueless about who this woman was.
Andrea sneered. “Bitch, why don’t you open your damn eyes and see who you’re dealing with?”
She had seen Margaret in a wedding photo with Ian Hamilton on his laptop.
She thought, ‘So, this bitch is Ian’s fiancée, the one who used my brother and sister-in-law to trick me into coming back.’

Margaret’s eyes burned with focus as they stared at Andrea’s twisted face. “I don’t care who you are. You can’t get away with this.”
Andrea stepped forward, taunting her. “Go ahead and tell Ian. Tell him I slapped you.”
Margaret was totally baffled. She thought, ‘Why would Ian care if this lunatic hit me? Besides, I have no idea who Andrea is.’
Margaret took a deep breath to steady herself. “Ms. Sherman, are you sure you haven’t mistaken me for someone else?”
Andrea glanced at Mia. She said firmly, “You’re Ian’s fiancée, right?”
Margaret couldn’t help but laugh, both annoyed and amused. “Yeah, my parents and the Hamilton family did try to match me with Mr. Hamilton, but nothing ever came of it.
“Ms. Sherman, I have no idea why you’re so hostile toward me.”
Andrea sneered. “Here’s the truth. Ian won’t marry you because of me. I’m his first love. Get it?”
She thought, ‘This bitch just admitted it herself. Her engagement with Ian totally fell apart, so she really is Ian’s fiancée. Guess I was right about her after all.’
Mia shook Chloe’s arm in disbelief. “Chloe, is this woman crazy or what?”
Chloe was also baffled.
She thought, I’m the one who used Andrea’s brother and sister-in-law to trick her into coming back. Why did she mistake Margaret for me?
‘No wonder Andrea looked at me like she was a total stranger just now.’
Margaret was speechless.
She pointed at Andrea and warned, “Even if you are Mr. Hamilton’s first love, that doesn’t mean you can act all arrogant. If you don’t clear things up, I’ll make sure you get a lesson.”
Andrea lifted her chin, her voice full of venom. “Your name is Margaret, right? You used my brother and his wife to trick me into coming back, then came between Ian and me, making him think the worst of me.
“I saw your wedding photo with him on his laptop. I’ll never forget your face. Don’t even try to deny it.”
Margaret pointed at Andrea, exasperated. “I’m going to lan to get to the bottom of this. Just wait.”
Margaret turned and got into her car, driving off.
Andrea shouted, “Go ahead. I’m not afraid of you.”
With that, Andrea stormed off as well.

Chloe and Mia stood a short distance away, both looking totally baffled by what they’d just witnessed.
Mia shot a sarcastic thumbs-up in the direction Andrea had stormed off. “I’ve never seen anyone this crazy in my life.”
Chloe let out a sigh and pulled Mia away.
Ian, carrying all the memories from his previous life, had already lost any romanticized view of Andrea, so she was practically digging her own grave with all this nonsense.
Mia and Chloe walked into the restaurant they’d picked out ahead of time.
Mia set her bag down and grabbed the menu. “Chloe, what do you feel like eating?”
Chloe, already sated from all the drama, replied, “Anything is fine.”
While they were waiting for their food, Mia couldn’t wait to spill the tea. “Chloe, you know what? While you were away, Ian actually sent Andrea to jail twice himself.”
Chloe gripped her glass with both hands, looking totally unfazed.
She knew that if Andrea hadn’t gotten married, hadn’t had a kid with someone else, and hadn’t screwed up so badly, Ian would still be crazy about her.
Andrea was dead set on believing Margaret was the one who used her brother and sister-in-law to trick her into coming back.
There was no doubt in Chloe’s mind that Ian was the mastermind behind all this.
Mia scoffed, “This idiot is just as dumb as her aunt. Ian is going to wipe the Quinn family off the map in Kingsford soon. And those two still think they can force their way into the upper class. What a joke.”
Chloe didn’t bother to argue because she knew lan really did have the power to make that happen.
Chloe switched gears. “Enough about all that drama. Tell me what’s going on with you and Patrick.”
Mia looked a bit shy.
She leaned over the table and whispered to Chloe, “Honestly, I got a little wild after drinking, and Patrick took all the heat so no one would talk behind my back.”
Chloe said with a hint of approval, “Patrick is a good guy. I heard the Campbell heiress still hasn’t given up on him, so you better not let this chance slip away.”
