The Billionaire’s Regret -Alessa (by Bukolami) novel Chapter 85

“Well, your mother and I aren't on good terms at the moment. It was rough the last time we met.” Damien replied, staring at Alessa.

“I am happy you are here,” Aria said and hugged his leg.

“Me too,” Aiden added and hugged his leg too.

Alessa sighed as she felt her heart shatter, it is sad that her kids love him so much and he loves them too. It's her fault though, everything that happened was her fault.

“Wait, why are you here, though?” Aria asked and looked up at him as they pulled away.

“Oh. Your mum called me, she said she needed a partner for the ball party.” Damien replied and the twins turned to their mother.

“Really?” Aiden asked.

“Hmm.” Alessa nodded with a smile.

“I came to inform you that it's time. Most of the guests have arrived.” Thane said and Alessa nodded.

“Okay, are we ready?” she asked her kids and they nodded happily.

“Come on,” she said and they all headed out of the house with Damien. They took another path to the ballroom.

They stood in a hallway which was the family entrance into the ballroom.

Thane stood behind them as their guard.

“Ready?” Damien asked and stretched his hand to Alessa. She stared at it for a few seconds before raising her hand and slowly placing it in his.

Immediately their hands touched, Alessa exhaled heavily.

She couldn't help but recall a lot of memories they made together. Both the good and bad ones.

The twins stood in front of them and they all looked like a cute happy family.

Damien held Alessa’s hand softly, and their fingers were intertwined with each other.

It was finally time and they all walked into the ballroom. Camera flashes were a lot, a lot of gasping and confusion. Murmurs also filled the air.

Since Aria learned the names, she would be welcoming the guests.

Alessa put on a fake smile as she greeted the guests she walked past while Damien kept a straight look.

He doesn't care about the ball and he didn't show up because Alessa needed a partner. He showed up because he wanted to see Alessa.

They got to the Harts table and they all paid attention to them but their eyes were on Damien.

Bryan held Damien’s gaze, and they both didn't say anything. They both kept staring at each other with no expressions but they let their eyes do the talking.

Bryan’s eyes moved to his locked hands with Alessa and he clenched his fist. He had no idea why but he felt mad, so mad that he felt like putting a bullet in Damien’s head.

“Welcome to our ball Mr. & Mrs. Hart. It is an honor to have you and your family here.” Aria said and Mr. & Mrs. Hart smiled at her.

“Thank you, dear.” Mr. Hart said to her.

“Alessa, who is he?” Mrs. Hart asked, looking at Damien who wasn't paying attention to them.
