Beck certainly wanted a chance to bring and introduce her to everyone. But…
"I'm still pursuing her. If I succeed, I'll let everyone know right away," he said.
After saying that, he added, "I still have something to handle, so I'll head off first."
Miles also had other matters to attend to. He waved at Wynn and the others before getting into his car and leaving.
…
Narcissa was at the right age for marriage, so her family was getting anxious about finding her a suitable match.
That very night, her family told her they had arranged a blind date for her the next day.
She wasn't particularly keen on blind dates, but in the end, she still went.
When she arrived and pushed open the door, she froze slightly at the sight of the person already seated inside.
Caleb stood up. "Ms. Lackspur?"
Narcissa nodded and walked over, taking a seat beside him. "Hello."
"Hello, what would you like to drink?" he replied politely.
"I'll order myself."
After a brief exchange of pleasantries, their coffee was served. Caleb spoke first.
"Ms. Lackspur, I'm sorry, but I already have someone I like. I only came today because this was arranged at the very last minute by my aunt. She's close friends with your mother, so it wasn't easy for me to refuse. My apologies."
Narcissa's smile paused for a moment.
The night before, when her family had described the blind date as someone who had a good career, refined demeanor, and an upright family background, she had assumed they were exaggerating.
Now, she realized that they hadn't. Caleb was indeed everything they said—well-mannered and good-looking. He was exactly her type.

Instead, she asked, "May I ask what kind of person you like?"
Caleb remained polite. "Sorry, that's personal. I'd rather not go into it. I hope you understand."
Narcissa paused.
At that moment, she saw something familiar in his eyes. It was just like that look Beck had last night—a kind of quiet certainty.
They both loved someone with unwavering conviction.
"I'm sorry. That was overstepping," she said.
"It's alright."

Narcissa could easily tell it was just courtesy. "No need."

The readers' comments on the novel: The Breaking Point of Love (Celeste and Trevor)
Applause for Matthias but I’d love to see Celeste stand up for herself too and all this is going on with Jo right there, if she really doesn’t care what people think about her she should take Jo out of there. They can all continue their shenanigans...
Author, please increase chapter length at least. It took me just a minute to read two chapters 😭. Also, W Matthias 🥹...
Matthias grabbing his chance and running his mouth as long as no one stops him. King 👑...
Matthias, you dropped this 👑...
Matthias, man, I love you 😭😭😭🤣🤣🤣🤣...
Wait do even Trevor’s friends didn’t know her relationship with Wynn? Did Trevor know?...
The uncovering of truth feels like a kid is peeling an onion layer by layer at extremely slow speed.. Truly exhausting...
Now how will Wynn and Lockett justify this? We've uncovered everything; we must finish this now, immediately....
I feel like the only thing to calm the issue is Zachary showing up and explaining she has been his student for the past 7 years. But doubt that will happen...
This is exhausting! Even with the truth spilled why are we so focused on the nonessential characters assumptions and opinions. This is spending not enough time on the MC. The ping pong of revelations and denial with corrections. Same exhausting pattern 😭😡...
