Third Person’s POV
Melanie met Elmer at the entrance.

Elmer leaned in and whispered in her ear, “Prof. Norman is going to be here for this expo.”
Melanie froze, her eyes widening slightly, and her back muscles tensed up involuntarily.
Elmer smiled wryly. “Good thing you found someone to help you out quickly. If he’d seen you walk in late, well…”
She immediately understood the implication.
Marcus always operated strictly by the book; excuses never helped. Lateness was seen as a sign of disrespect.
Her choice to mate and become the Razor Pack’s Luna after graduation was already a mark against her in Marcus’s mind.
To show up late for their first reunion? The consequences would be severe.
The back of her scent gland felt cold.
“So, thankfully, you weren’t late,” Elmer finished, lowering his voice.
Melanie slowly brought her breathing back to normal.
She nodded and walked with Elmer toward the ticket booth, her pheromones carefully contained. They moved through the crowd, the lights, and the hum of machinery.
Inside, the hall was already packed.
་
The venue was enormous, showcasing everything from drones and flying cars to advanced robots.
The sheer variety of projects and technologies was overwhelming the moment they stepped inside.
Because Elmer was well–known, people soon started coming up to greet him. He took the opportunity to introduce Melanie to
several industry contacts.
She smiled, greeting them. As she faced the entrance, her eyes met those of Camille’s group, who had just walked in.
Camille stopped short–she hadn’t expected Melanie to secure an entry spot.
Her pheromones fluctuated for a brief second.
For the tech world, this expo was a premier networking event, and entry passes were extremely rare.
Elmer bringing a newcomer like Melanie to the expo would likely cause dissent among Hilltop Tech’s core team.
Camille wasn’t unfamiliar with Elmer: he was a student of Marcus, and despite managing a company, his professional skills were still sharp.
He understood technology and valued talent, and with CUAP as the company’s core defense, Hilltop Tech was on a steady rise.
Isaiah had previously spoken highly of him, calling him a rare good boss.
Camille already thought that appraisal was “unearned” after Elmer refused to hire her because of Melanie.
Now, him giving such a crucial expo pass to Melanie felt like crossing a line.
Camille frowned at the thought.
Marvin and Daphne also saw Melanie and frowned. They hadn’t expected to see her here either.

Melanie merely glanced at them, then looked away.
Marvin noticed Melanie talking with a tall, well–dressed man. They looked close.
Marvin asked Camille quietly, “Do you know that man?”
“That’s Elmer.”
“That’s Elmer?” Marvin was surprised.
He knew Melanie had left the Atkinson Group for Hilltop Tech, but he assumed she was just a regular employee. He hadn’t realized Elmer seemed to value her so much.
Before Camille could respond, another person walked up to their group.
“Camille, Mr. Haines, nice meeting you here.”
“Hi, Mr. Davidson.”
Initially, they only had two tickets. But the controversy at the Pack Assembly the night before made many people aware of Camille’s connection to Archer.
This Mr. Davidson, wanting to get closer to Archer, quickly sent over a pass when he heard they were short one.
Many people were in the loop. Mr. Davidson had barely finished speaking when others came over to say hello.
Before long, their group grew larger and larger, attracting attention.
On Melanie’s side, Mr. Clayton, who was talking to them, also noticed the commotion. He spoke up. “That group over there is from the Haines Group. You’ve heard the rumors, right? That Camille is closely involved with Archer, so everyone’s flocking over to try and make a connection.”
His tone was clearly dismissive.
Elmer had also heard about the “scene” at the Pack Assembly the night before.
He looked at Melanie and asked, “Do you have a history with the Haines Group, Mr. Clayton?”
Mr. Clayton shook his head. “Not exactly history. It’s just that Wanda, the girl who clashed with Camille last night, is the daughter of an old friend of mine. I’ve known her since she was a child. She’s spirited but not unreasonable. Her fiancé had an inappropriate relationship with some girl a couple of years ago, almost calling off the engagement. Later, I heard that girl somehow met Archer and backed away…”
Mr. Clayton’s explanation laid his opinion on the table: he believed Camille had interfered in Wanda’s relationship with her fiancé, only to step away once she secured connections.
But what truly angered him was what happened last night.
