The CEO’s Regret My Ex-Wife is a Tech Goddess novel Chapter 109

To keep her from writhing around, Silas locked his arms securely around her waist.

She molded herself against him, resting her chin on his collarbone as she tilted her head back, flashing him a completely irrational, blinding smile.

Her gaze traced the sharp line of his jaw and dropped to his lips. Then, her wandering little hands trailed up to brush against the frantic bob of his Adam's apple.

Silas's eyes darkened instantly, his breathing turning rough and heavy.

He lowered his gaze to the woman in his arms.

She was as soft and pliable as cotton. The bright, sharp eyes he was so accustomed to seeing were now clouded with a hazy, seductive mist.

Her red lips were slightly parted. Her thick lashes drooped like dewy butterfly wings, fluttering softly and making Silas's throat tighten painfully.

Silas wrenched his gaze away, fighting down the surging desire in his chest. He instinctively tightened his grip, holding her securely against him.

Alaina's dizziness worsened, making her feel completely untethered from reality. She leaned her entire weight into him.

Staring at his tense profile, she suddenly felt an inexplicable wave of petulance. She just wanted to be closer to him.

Before her mind could process the thought, her body moved on its own.

She threw her arms around his neck, and with a sudden, surprising burst of strength, she tackled Silas backward onto the sofa.

Straddling him, she rested her hands on his chest and stared down into his face without blinking.

Even in her haze, she could distinctly feel Silas's body go rigid beneath her.

His hands hovered awkwardly in the air. He neither pushed her away nor pulled her close, clearly battling an agonizing internal restraint.

She was like a completely different person, utterly devoid of her usual need to keep a professional distance.

She buried her face in the crook of his neck, her nose nuzzling against his skin. Her lungs filled with his intoxicating scent, sparking an uncharacteristic surge of sheer joy in her chest.

"Silas," she murmured. "Turns out you're warm, not freezing cold. You're my pillow now. A very nice-smelling pillow."

She lifted her head again, gazing intently into his face, mere inches from her own.
