The CEO’s Regret My Ex-Wife is a Tech Goddess novel Chapter 116

The abandoned factory seemed to be their hideout. The table was littered with takeout boxes and empty beer bottles.

She finally got a clear look at her kidnappers.

There were four of them in total, all massive and heavily built.

They had pulled off their hats and masks, revealing faces marred by hideous scars. Their eyes were vicious, and they wore tattered clothes stained with grease.

They clutched iron pipes or daggers, radiating a terrifying, murderous energy.

The leader of the thugs had a buzz cut and a long, jagged scar stretching from between his brows all the way to his temple.

He crossed his arms, staring down at Alaina with pure menace, his voice rough and crude: "Stay put and behave. Don't cause trouble for me, and we won't have a problem."

With that, he ordered his men to strip off her shoes and socks.

Standing barefoot on the freezing concrete, the rough surface painfully scraped her ankles, sending a deep chill shooting from the soles of her feet all the way through her body.

Out of nowhere, she caught a glimpse of several rats scurrying along the baseboards, leaving only blurry shadows in their wake. She froze in pure terror.

Forcing herself to stay calm, she spoke, her voice trembling slightly but laced with fierce determination: "Who are you, and why did you kidnap me?"

The scar-faced man scoffed. He crouched down, extended his calloused fingers, and gripped her chin painfully, forcing her to look up at him. "Sorry for the rough treatment, Dr. Rossi. My brothers and I are just doing a job for the man paying us."

"My boss told us to treat you with respect. We brought you here today to formally invite you to work for him."
