The CEO’s Regret My Ex-Wife is a Tech Goddess novel Chapter 137

When Alaina returned to the mid-mountain villa of the Summers Estate, the rain still hadn't stopped.

She held her umbrella and walked past the glasshouse, seeing that it was filled with flowers.

She naturally walked in and sat down.

Listening to the sound of the rain drumming against the glass roof, her chest felt as if it were clogged with something thoroughly foul. No matter how many times she repeatedly took deep breaths, she couldn't exhale it.

She curled up, wrapping her arms around herself for warmth.

In a daze, she saw a pair of rain-splattered leather shoes appear in her line of sight.

She looked up and was startled to see Silas looking at her with a slight frown.

She instinctively averted her gaze, her pale lips parting, but no words came out.

The next second, Silas had already slipped off his coat and draped it over her shoulders with an undeniable force.

She felt the warmth brought by the coat, and a lump formed in her throat.

"I'm fine," she spoke with a heavy voice.

Silas shoved both hands into his trouser pockets, leaning against the solid wood table beside her, watching her with a gaze that gave away no emotion.

Alaina was slightly taken aback and took the initiative to say, "I won't see Ethan again from now on."

Silas nodded slightly. "It's good that you think that way. Dragging things out doesn't benefit anyone."

"He's an adult, capable of handling his own emotions," he continued coldly. "He shouldn't make you keep paying for his feelings."

Hearing this, Alaina curled her lips into a faint smile. "I'm fine. I haven't been affected by him. I'm just... a little tired and wanted to rest here for a bit."

Silas stared at her with a chilling gaze, as if any falsehood would be completely exposed before his eyes.

Alaina stubbornly met his gaze, though her hands were clenched guiltily.
