The CEO’s Regret My Ex-Wife is a Tech Goddess novel Chapter 169

Julian looked from Silas's tense face to Alaina's confused expression, and sensibly backed away. "Alright, you two go ahead. I'll be over there."

Only the two of them were left on the judo mat. Before Alaina could react, Silas grabbed her wrist, gently but firmly pulling her flush against his chest.

His body heat radiated through the uniform. Alaina's face flushed hotly, and she struggled. "Silas, let go."

Instead of letting go, Silas grabbed her waist, pressing down and taking her straight to the mat.

He dropped to one knee, bracing his weight on his arms as he stared down at her. His nose practically brushed hers, his voice low and raspy as if soaked in whiskey. "Rule one: keep your eyes locked on your opponent."

Alaina's heart slammed violently against her ribs, knocking the breath right out of her lungs.

She stared up at his incredibly close face with wide, glassy eyes, pressing her lips together to show she was indeed paying attention.

Silas hauled her up from the floor. "Choke me. I'll show you how to break free."

Alaina had to stand on her tiptoes just to reach his neck. The moment her fingertips brushed his warm skin, he grabbed her wrist.

He shifted his weight slightly, using her own momentum to twist and pin her arm behind her back. His hot breath brushed against her ear. "Remember this angle. You don't need to be stronger. You use their force to break free."

Alaina's back was pressed tight against his solid chest. Her heart was racing so fast she thought it would leap out of her throat, her own jagged breathing loud in her ears.

She nodded.

Silas let her go, then wrapped his hand around her throat. "Your turn."

She tried twice, but Silas didn't budge an inch.

Her competitive streak flared. Staring into Silas's unrelenting, stone-cold face, she wasn't about to give up.
