The CEO’s Regret My Ex-Wife is a Tech Goddess novel Chapter 19

When Alaina woke up, she was stunned to find herself lying in a massive, unfamiliar bed.

Fighting through the lingering discomfort, she pushed herself up and scanned the lavish room, searching everywhere for her backpack.

Just then, a young man pushed the door open. "You're awake? Now that you're up, follow me to see the Director."

Pressing herself against the wall, the word 'Director' triggered an explosive ringing in Alaina's ears, and her heart instantly leaped into her throat.

She followed the young man, who introduced himself as Zachary.

After leading her down a long corridor, Zachary pushed open the door to a reception room and told her to wait inside.

She nervously complied, and moments later, a maid entered and handed over her backpack.

The maid also informed her that her phone was still at the security checkpoint.

As soon as the maid left, Alaina slung her backpack over her shoulder and hurried to escape.

She was completely exhausted and had absolutely no energy left to deal with someone even more ruthless than Lily.

She remembered hiding under her covers years ago, digging for information on Silas Summers, only to find absolutely nothing.

Later, one of Logan's classmates hacked into the university's internal network and retrieved Lily's file for her.

Under family relations, it listed Silas Summers as her guardian, with his background and all other details marked strictly classified.

However, there was an attached photo used for a family access pass.

The Silas Summers in that photo was a burly, ferocious-looking man with a face full of hostile fat.

Pulling her thoughts back to the present, she calculated the birth date from that old file. Silas Summers had to be a middle-aged man pushing forty by now.

Bad people only got worse with age, making him even harder to deal with.
