The CEO’s Regret My Ex-Wife is a Tech Goddess novel Chapter 191

Silas smiled without a word.

He grasped her wrist, pulled her up from the rock, and naturally pulled her into his arms.

Alaina was beginning to get used to the warmth of his embrace, leaning against his shoulder and taking in his scent.

Silas lowered his head, his nose brushing the top of her hair. Catching the faint scent of coconut, his voice was as light as the breeze over the ocean. "Let's go, it's time to head back."

Back at the villa, Silas received an urgent call.

Seeing the change in his expression, Alaina knew he had to leave.

Silas packed his bags with lightning speed and came over to her. "I'll see you at The Summers Estate in a few days."

She nodded. "I'll tell Arthur and Evelyn when they get back from their trip."

Silas nodded, handing his luggage to the bellhop who had come to fetch him, and walked out.

Alaina jogged outside, watching his figure disappear into the distance.

After spending two more days on the island, Alaina took her family on the private jet Silas had arranged, flying back to the country and returning to Rossi County.

In the days since Silas had left early, her longing for him surged like an incoming tide.

From the first thought when she opened her eyes in the morning to tossing and turning in bed late at night, every empty space in her mind was filled with his shadow, leaving her heart feeling both tender and hollow.

She knew he was busy, but she couldn't help guessing if he was done, if his mission was dangerous, or if he would get hurt like last time.

Her phone never left her side. She constantly hoped for even a short message from him, even if it was just a simple "I'm done."

That day, another wave of neighbors came to visit her home for the holidays.

Alaina happened to be coming downstairs and saw Toby Hudson had arrived.

She smiled, but froze completely when she caught sight of the gleaming gold watch on Toby's wrist.

It was Ethan Harrington's watch; she remembered Ethan wearing it for years.
