The CEO’s Regret My Ex-Wife is a Tech Goddess novel Chapter 195

"Haven't you heard you can scare someone to death like that?" Alaina protested softly.

Silas rested his head against his palm. The messy strands of hair falling across his forehead softened his usually stern features.

He smiled. "You don't look scared in the slightest."

Alaina smiled back. "Even if I was scared, I wouldn't let it show."

Silas reached out and brushed a stray lock of hair behind her ear. "Go to sleep. I just wanted to look at you for a bit."

Alaina hummed softly, but couldn't help adding, "You don't need to worry about Julian. His fever broke a little. He should be better by tomorrow."

Silas's eyes darkened. "You really like Julian?"

Alaina nodded. "Julian is so great, it's hard not to like him."

Silas asked, "What's so great about him?"

"Everything," Alaina's voice was tinged with sleepiness as she started listing his traits. "He's approachable, polite, and a true gentleman. It's like the winter sun—not blinding, just warm and comforting."

At that, Silas's jaw clenched, but he said nothing.

He just reached out, wrapping an arm around her and hauling her against his chest.

Alaina's eyes snapped open, her nose nearly bumping against his.

The memory of their kiss on the island suddenly flashed through her mind. Instantly, all her sleepiness evaporated, and her face flushed crimson.

"Why are you grabbing me all of a sudden?" Her eyes went wide.

Silas tightened his grip. "Punishment for breaking the rules."

Alaina was speechless.

"Praising another man right in front of me... don't you think that's a bit inappropriate?" Silas's voice carried a distinct edge of jealousy.

She furrowed her brow. "That's Julian, your brother."

"So what if he's my brother?" Silas's gaze darkened further.

Watching him act like this, Alaina couldn't suppress a giggle. "So I should praise you instead?"
