The CEO’s Regret My Ex-Wife is a Tech Goddess novel Chapter 21

Heat rushed to Alaina Rossi's cheeks.

"There's no turning back," she thought. She pulled a hard drive from her bag and set it on the edge of the desk. "You can verify the data on this."

Silas Summers maintained the aloof composure of a man in power. He dismissed her without a word, gesturing to Zachary Jenkins. "Show her out," he ordered coldly.

"Yes, sir," Zachary replied.

Alaina tightened her lips, her disappointment painfully obvious.

She walked a few steps but spun back around, unwilling to let it go.

"Lily said dealing with me would be as easy as crushing an ant," she said, her voice trembling but resolute.

"I have no doubt you billionaires crush people every day to protect your bottom line."

"But I also believe justice will eventually catch up to you."

Silas's gaze turned somber. Even his casual stance radiated an intimidating, predatory authority.

Alaina's hands clenched into tight fists at her sides. "Money and power don't make you invincible. I will burn my own life down if it means getting the justice I deserve."

A fleeting chill flashed in Silas's eyes. The corners of his lips quirked upward. Shoving his hands into his pockets, he stepped into her personal space, his gaze sweeping over her. "You are incredibly stubborn."

The sheer force of his presence was suffocating. She swallowed her anxiety and forced the words out before her courage collapsed completely.

"If the Apex microchip processors are using my three-year-old data as a baseline, it will take a long time for the production yield to meet your standards."

"Right now, your machine is nothing but a decorative paperweight. It's nowhere near mass-production levels."

Silas's jaw twitched almost imperceptibly. An unreadable emotion sparked in his eyes.

Taking that as a sign she had hit the mark, Alaina took a deep breath. "By the time your yields are acceptable, the first DUV processor at Apex will be completely obsolete compared to the new EUV processor I'm developing."

"I will outpace you. I will conquer the technical hurdles first. I will hand my breakthroughs directly to your competitors, and I will make Apex Microelectronics pay for what you've done."

"Do not declare war until you have a winning hand," Silas murmured, watching her with unwavering focus. "There are over a hundred engineers at Apex just as arrogant as you."
