The CEO’s Regret My Ex-Wife is a Tech Goddess novel Chapter 250

Silas let out a helpless sigh, looking entirely serious as he said, "Then I'll just make something up right now."

He paused, his gaze landing on the lingering smile at the corners of her lips, his voice deep and clear. "I like the kind of person who makes me willingly change 'myself' into 'us.'"

Alaina froze, the smile catching on her lips as her heart suddenly hammered against her ribs.

Silas looked at her parted lips and gently squeezed her hand. "I used to think life was a solo journey. But then I realized that walking with someone else feels exactly like this—there is wind, sunlight, a sweet scent, and warmth."

"Alaina, being able to walk this path with you is the greatest luck I, Silas Summers, could ever ask for. I like... the life we have right now."

The stream bubbled softly beside them, and the wind swept through the trees, rustling the leaves.

Alaina's ears quietly turned red. To mask it, she joked, "It's a good thing our Mr. Summers notoriously avoids romance, otherwise, you'd be breaking an awful lot of hearts."

Silas playfully rolled his eyes at her, holding her hand as they walked back toward the canopy tent.

By the time they returned, the atmosphere at the campsite had relaxed considerably.

The three girls were chatting quietly, sitting around the folding table with an open botanical guide, pointing at the pages and debating the scientific name of a wildflower. Though Penelope still occasionally glanced in Julian's direction, she was no longer constantly interrupting him, simply sipping her warm fruit tea in silence.

Seeing them return, Julian let out a massive sigh of relief. He stood up and took a few steps forward, his voice warm. "Silas, Alaina, the fish soup is almost ready."

"You know how to make fish soup?" Alaina asked, genuinely surprised.

He smiled, his gaze flicking to Silas's hand holding hers, a knowing amusement flashing in his eyes. "The fish from the mountain streams are incredibly fresh. Add some ginger slices and a splash of rice wine, and it's perfect for the weather."

They all sat down, and Julian served three bowls of soup. A few sprigs of green onion floated on the milky white broth, the aroma wafting through the air. Alaina cradled her bowl, the warmth spreading from her palms straight to her chest.
