The CEO’s Regret My Ex-Wife is a Tech Goddess novel Chapter 289

Rosemary shifted her glare to Silas.

Seeing the sheer number of bruises and cuts on him, her tone softened, though she couldn't help but ask, "What exactly are you going to do now?"

Silas remained silent.

Zachary quietly answered on his boss's behalf. "The suspects have all been detained. We'll have to see how the prosecutors proceed. It's a massive conspiracy, so it's going to be a long legal battle."

Rosemary sighed heavily, a mess of conflicting emotions. She instructed Mrs. Gable to summon a physician before turning to leave.

At the door, she couldn't stop herself from looking back. "It's no wonder Alaina is so furious. Of all the people to keep in the dark, you shouldn't have lied to her. Tell me the truth—was this entire wedding just a tactical decoy? Did you ever actually intend to marry her?"

Silas’s brow furrowed, but he offered no answer.

The next morning.

He planned to go find Alaina.

Just as he stepped out, his superiors called, demanding an immediate debriefing.

Normally, his duty always came first.

But this time, in an unprecedented move, he pushed the briefing to the bottom of his priority list.

He stated he had an urgent personal matter and would report in once it was resolved.

Hanging up, he drove himself straight to Professor Foster's residence.

Not wanting to raise Franklin's suspicions, Alaina headed out right after breakfast.

She bumped right into Silas in front of the apartment building.

She froze, stopping dead in her tracks.

Before he could utter a word, she grabbed his arm and dragged him out of the courtyard.
