The CEO’s Regret My Ex-Wife is a Tech Goddess novel Chapter 298

Silas pulled her back. "Not research."

Then, with complete seriousness, he pointed out, "Aren't you also really good at telling dad jokes?"

Huh?

Alaina burst out laughing.

"Silas, are you saying you want to learn how to tell dad jokes?"

"Yes. I never tell jokes, let alone dry ones."

"You're cheating," Alaina protested. "Who actively tries to learn how to tell dad jokes?"

Silas replied solemnly, "You said to learn something I'm bad at. This is what I'm bad at."

Alaina was utterly speechless.

After a brief moment of stunned silence, she relented, pulling out her phone and searching for a compilation of dry jokes before handing it to him.

Silas studied the screen for a long time before saying, "Let me try."

He adjusted his posture, sitting up perfectly straight. He made a conscious effort to smooth out his usually furrowed brow, deliberately relaxing his features to mimic Alaina's typically playful, laid-back demeanor.

Raising a hand, he gently pinched her soft cheek. His tone was perfectly flat and serious, entirely devoid of inflection as he spoke: "I'll tell you a joke."

Alaina crossed her arms, waiting.

She truly couldn't imagine the ruthless, ever-stoic Silas Summers actually telling a dad joke.

Before she could react, Silas spoke earnestly, his tone straight, disciplined, and entirely unvaried. He sounded less like he was telling a joke and more like he was reading an executive report in a boardroom: "Do you know what kind of shoes frogs wear?"

Alaina blinked, momentarily caught off guard, and instinctively played along: "What?"

"Sandals."

Silas revealed the answer clearly, taking it far too seriously. "Because they have open toads."
