The CEO’s Regret My Ex-Wife is a Tech Goddess novel Chapter 299

Silas didn't stop. His fingers moved with a gentle pressure—not rough, but expertly targeting her weak spots. A vibrant, unprecedented smile danced in his eyes.

His usually cold, disciplined features completely relaxed, shedding every ounce of their lethal sharpness.

"Do I pass or not?" he murmured, leaning over her. His warm breath brushed past her ear, his tone laced with a faint mix of coaxing and dominance.

Burning up with laughter, Alaina blindly swatted at his wrists in a futile attempt to fight back. Her weak resistance lacked any real threat, looking more like an affectionate, playful surrender.

Their limbs tangled together as they playfully wrestled on the soft mattress. The warm, golden light spilled over their overlapping silhouettes, casting a tender, incredibly intimate glow.

"You pass! You pass!" Alaina gasped out through her laughter, struggling to breathe. Her cheeks were flushed, her eyes dewy, and she quickly threw her hands up in surrender. "I yield! You officially learned how to tell a dad joke!"

Only then did Silas finally pull his hands back. But he took advantage of his position to hover over her, trapping her in his embrace. He rested a steady palm on the small of her back to anchor her, keeping her from squirming away.

Alaina collapsed against his chest, her breathing slightly ragged. Her nose was flushed pink, and she was still panting lightly, her eyes bright, sparkling, and overwhelmingly beautiful with leftover mirth.

He gazed down at the woman in his arms, taking in her messy hair and reddened ears. Using his thumb, he gently tucked a stray lock of hair behind her ear. A low, rumbling chuckle vibrated in his throat, his voice utterly gentle. "That leaves two things left on your list of four."

"Your birthday will have to wait, and as for the thing I hate doing most..."

He trailed off, his gaze growing dark and intense.

Alaina looked up at him. "There's no rush. Seriously, Silas, there's no rush at all. I can easily add a new task tomorrow morning so you can take your time checking them off."

She cupped his cheek with her palm. "The point of doing these things is to force you to slow down. Slow down and actually feel the beauty of living. The journey is far more important than the destination."

Silas nodded. He rolled off her and lay down beside her, staring up at the ceiling.

Alaina spoke up, "Oh, I just thought of another one."

"What is it?"
