The CEO’s Regret My Ex-Wife is a Tech Goddess novel Chapter 31

Alaina shot Lily a frigid glare. Forcing down her rising sense of injustice, she maintained a calm facade and climbed into the back of the police cruiser.

Watching the vehicle speed away with its sirens wailing, Lily kept a sweet smile plastered on her face, though her knuckles cracked as she clenched her fists.

She immediately spun on her heel, rushing back inside with a perfectly crafted look of shock to break the news to Ethan.

After hastily bidding farewell to Mrs. Rowe, Ethan grabbed Lily's hand and rushed out of the Rowe Manor.

Mrs. Rowe sat alone in her room, perusing the preliminary medical opinions Alaina had just jotted down, waiting for her informant to return.

"Ma'am, Mr. Harrison is here," the butler announced.

She gestured for Harold to enter.

Harold walked in and respectfully handed over a thick file. "Apologies for the delay, Mrs. Rowe. It took a bit of digging."

She murmured that it was fine. Slipping on her reading glasses, she skimmed Alaina's background file and scoffed to her butler. "Well, this is an unexpected twist. How can someone be so utterly shameless? Playing the devoted wife while accompanying her husband and his mistress, all just to treat the mistress's great-aunt."

The butler and Harold exchanged an awkward glance before the butler offered a strained smile. "Perhaps the young miss didn't know."

Mrs. Rowe let out a soft huff. "She fully knew she was the other woman. The Summers heiress is absolutely ruined."

"Please reconsider, ma'am," the butler urged gently. "Given her deep-seated grudge against Lily, bringing her into the fold will only lead to endless household drama."

"The family legacy is already crumbling, who cares about a little drama?" Mrs. Rowe's eyes widened. "As long as she caught that bastard's eye, we grab her. Simple as that."

Harold then reported the commotion he had just witnessed outside with the police car.

Mrs. Rowe kept her voice low. "Send someone to look into this. Keep it discreet and find out exactly what happened."

"Understood, ma'am."

Late that night.

Outside the police precinct.
