The CEO’s Regret My Ex-Wife is a Tech Goddess novel Chapter 36

She jogged inside, only to find Mrs. Harrington, supported by the butler, warmly greeting Arthur in the foyer.

Arthur was in high spirits, hauling bag after bag of farm produce out of his truck. He laughed heartily, saying, "Just some fresh, organic produce from the countryside. A little token of appreciation, please don't mind it."

"Mr. Rossi, you are far too kind," Mrs. Harrington smiled warmly. "Let the staff handle that. Please, stop lifting and come inside for some tea."

"It's nothing, really! We country folks have plenty of strength," Arthur replied, carrying a large box and handing it to a nearby maid. "I brought this specifically for my little girl. It's all her favorite snacks."

Back when they married, there had been no grand wedding, just a simple dinner between the two families.

During holidays, they had a silent agreement to keep their distance, always using Ethan's need to rest as a polite excuse.

Over the past few years, both father and daughter had been incredibly stubborn, neither willing to be the first to apologize. Any communication between them had been entirely relayed through Evelyn.

Listening from a distance, Alaina felt a sudden sting behind her eyes.

She quickly called out, "Dad!"

She sprinted toward him.

Hearing her voice, Arthur turned around. Seeing his daughter, he froze, taking a long moment to process the sight.

Alaina didn't want to linger here a second longer. Keeping her face neutral, she asked, "Why did you come without telling me?"

"You and your husband are always so busy. I just wanted to drop this off and head straight back," Arthur explained.

Hearing this, Mrs. Harrington quickly interjected, "Ethan is on his way home as we speak. Now that the family is finally reunited, you absolutely cannot leave." With that, she instructed the butler and maids to enthusiastically usher him inside.

Left with no other choice, Alaina reluctantly followed them into the house.

Right in front of Arthur, Mrs. Harrington showered Alaina with endless praise, calling her the perfect daughter-in-law and a wonderful wife.

Arthur chuckled with overwhelming pride, turning to instruct his daughter. "Alaina, make sure you take good care of your mother-in-law and be a solid pillar of support for your husband. Not everyone is blessed with a life as good as yours."
