The CEO’s Regret My Ex-Wife is a Tech Goddess novel Chapter 50

Alaina smiled warmly. "I promise I won't."

Franklin leaned in and quietly told the Dean about her plans to launch an independent research lab.

The Dean lit up immediately. "That's fantastic news! Do you need funding? Half the city's venture capitalists are in this room tonight. You need to go network."

"Of course she needs money," Franklin chimed in smoothly. "That's exactly why we're coming to you. Nobody in this industry has a better contact list than you."

Dean Sterling laughed out loud. "You stubborn old goat. You've never kissed up to anyone in your life, but you'll say anything to help your student." He turned back to Alaina. "Don't worry. With a resume like yours, investors will be begging to write you checks."

"I'll do my best," Alaina nodded.

"Oh, right. Make sure you introduce yourself to Mr. Summers from The Security Administration later," the Dean suddenly remembered. "They've been pumping massive amounts of government subsidies into tech research lately."

Hearing the terrifying title of the Director of The Security Administration, Alaina felt her spine snap rigid.

Suddenly, a palpable hush fell over the grand ballroom entrance, sweeping rapidly through the crowd until the loud chatter died down to a nervous murmur.

Under the breathless gaze of hundreds of elites, Silas Summers and Julian Rowe walked through the double doors side by side.

As the Chairman of Lockwood Holdings, Julian was a titan of both business and politics, easily recognized by nearly everyone in the room.

He was widely praised as the very picture of refined corporate royalty.

But the man walking next to him was a terrifying mystery. Compared to Julian's easy grace, this stranger radiated a suffocating, lethal dominance that literally commanded silence.

It was the deeply connected Dean Sterling who finally whispered the name. "Mr. Summers has arrived."

The nearby guests who overheard him widened their eyes in pure shock, frantic whispers instantly breaking out:

"That's the Director?"

"He's so young to have that much power."

"My god, he is gorgeous."

...

Alaina took a deep, bracing breath and cast a calm, guarded look at Silas.
