The Coma Prince’s Fiancée novel Chapter 102

“I’m going too. I don’t buy that the school can just cover everything up.”

As people kept shouting, the long list of names was finally read out. The broadcast kept going. The crowd got weirdly quiet. A lot of folks were suddenly worried that maybe their own name was next.

“…The surveillance cameras in the cafeteria have recorded the entire incident, including those who caused trouble and spread lies. The school doesn’t usually get involved in students’ private matters, but because this has caused a serious problem, we reserve the right to take legal action. Whether to press charges is completely up to the victim, Rebecca. If she asks for security footage to file a report, the school will fully cooperate. If the authorities determine that the actions rise to insult and defamation, everyone listed will be expelled…

…And, to clear things up, Wade will be bringing out the best legal team he has.”

Once it finished, the whole thing started playing again. The announcement was long, but really there were only two points. One, if Rebecca didn’t take it further, the school wouldn’t either. If she did, though, they were going to be ruthless about it. And two, this time Wade was absolutely serious.

No one could accuse the school of unfairly throwing their weight around. If that was their plan, they’d have just handed out punishments without waiting for a police case. Just that fact was enough to shut up most people who’d been hating on Rebecca.

If the case got officially filed and classified as defamation, everyone involved would definitely be in deep trouble—expulsion level. Judging from the announcement, that outcome seemed pretty much guaranteed.

Still, someone in the crowd wouldn't let it go. “So what did Wade even say?"

“It doesn’t matter what he said. What matters is that you all started rumors without a single shred of proof. You’re making Vantage Point University look bad,” the long-haired girl shot back, her tone sharp. “And who was it who wanted to post this online for everyone to judge? Is it really so easy to spread trash rumors now—no consequences at all?”

The girl being targeted today just happened to be Rebecca. Tomorrow, it could be anyone. If nobody stood up to this, who knew when this kind of toxic nonsense would land on someone else?

The long-haired girl understood this all too well. Plus, after Wade pulled her aside and explained just how important Rebecca was to the school, her disgust for the rumor spreaders only deepened.

As soon as she left, everyone else scattered, the packed crowd dissolving till the place was empty again.

The cafeteria was already back to normal. Rebecca returned, filled her tray, picked a spot nearby, and started eating again.

She had only taken a couple of bites when someone else interrupted her.

“Who taught you to fight like that?”

She lifted her eyes coldly. Magee stood at her table, a couple of his sidekicks looming behind him, all of them staring down at her.
