The Coma Prince’s Fiancée novel Chapter 138

Steven frowned in confusion. “What’s so inconvenient about it? Other than Jennifer getting worse, is there any other reason you have to find Wade?”

He already knew about Jennifer’s cancer, thanks to a tip from one of Norris’s people.

Irvin glanced over and didn’t bother to deny it. “Let’s just say that’s the reason.”

But Norris wasn’t convinced so easily. His gaze lingered on Irvin, sharp and thoughtful. “Does this have anything to do with why you suddenly came back home?”

Usually, whenever Irvin went abroad, he’d stay away for over a year. This time, he was back in four months flat.

Irvin hesitated for a second, surprised by how quickly Norris caught on. He always was too perceptive for his own good.

He gave a small shake of his head. “I can’t say much more. I need to see Wade for something really important. What I’m searching for is even rarer than Ambrosia Vitae.”

Steven’s eyebrows shot up. “Just one Ambrosia Vitae already caused chaos in Harrisburg. Rarer than that... Isn’t that only…” He trailed off, his eyes suddenly intense, testing the waters, laying out each word carefully. “Astra Lumina?”

Irvin’s face went rigid.

Steven, as usual, had managed to hit the mark. The man’s guesses were never off.

Watching Irvin’s reaction, Steven sucked in a breath. “You mean I actually got it right?”

Norris’s eyes suddenly lost their calm, locking directly on Irvin.

Astra Lumina was this mythical new drug that had shown up out of nowhere three years before. Almost no one had ever seen it in person.

It had only surfaced because someone from a foreign royal family had been bitten by a black mamba during a wilderness trip. People freaked out, since black mamba venom is one of the deadliest there is. Even though the heir’s staff tried the top antivenom right away, the poison kept spreading and there was nothing else they could do.
