The Coma Prince’s Fiancée novel Chapter 176

"You're still lying!" Gavin sneered. "Saying you couldn't reach the original composer is just a pathetic excuse to cover up your theft. I already told you, I wrote this piece! I never received any messages from you, let alone an offer to buy the rights."

Garnett raised an eyebrow, looking at him with amusement. "Are you absolutely sure this piece is yours?"

"Of course!" Gavin answered, dripping with arrogance. "If it's not mine, is it yours? Wake up. You've never been as talented as me. If I hadn't been distracted by other things, do you really think you'd have made it into Apex Academy? You owe me, and I'm going to take it all back, piece by piece!"

An illegitimate bastard trying to outshine me? He's got a death wish!

Did Garnett really think Gavin hadn't done his homework? He had uploaded the audio to his social media and had his private tutor review it. His tutor was a member of The National Music Conservatory—a highly respected figure in the country. If even his tutor hadn't heard of it, it meant the song was a total obscurity. He could claim it was his own, and no one would know the difference. His tutor had even praised the hook and suggested he enter the Bach International Music Competition.

Once he became famous, he would be the pride of the university—a height Garnett would never reach. He felt untouchable.

Seeing Gavin's arrogant ignorance, Garnett realized the idiot was banking on the song's lack of fame.

He turned back to Wade, his tone resolute. "Mr. President, if you allow me, I'd like to play the second section of this piece again, at half the speed. I'm confident you will hear the difference."

The crowd was confused. Playing it faster or slower wouldn't change the melody. And why would only Wade be able to hear the difference?

Lily scoffed, treating it as a desperate stalling tactic. "You're still in denial! Stop taking advantage of the president's patience! This isn't your personal playground. Keep this up, and I'll have security throw you out!"

Wade shot her a freezing glare. "My decisions are not open to debate!"

Lily choked on her words, furious but terrified. Wade was a man who commanded the respect of Harrisburg's elite politicians. Getting on his bad side was a career death sentence.

Seeing Lily get shut down, Gavin kept his mouth shut. He had the upper hand anyway. There was no way Garnett could flip the script now.

In the lobby, the gossiping students were stunned.

"The president looked like he was about to say no. Why did he suddenly agree?"
