The Coma Prince’s Fiancée novel Chapter 178

If the students could recognize the sheer brilliance of the piece, the professional teachers certainly could too.

"None of us could write something like this, let alone Gavin. He hasn't exactly lived a tortured life."

"Right. Now Garnett, on the other hand, has had to work his way through school. He's tasted real hardship..."

The teachers murmured among themselves. The bitter rivalry between Gavin and Garnett wasn't exactly a secret on campus.

But to Gavin, their whispers sounded like blatant favoritism. He gritted his teeth, demanding fairness.

"I completely disagree! Just because I haven't hit rock bottom doesn't mean I can't write a masterpiece. You can't invalidate my work based on my life experiences. That's pure prejudice!"

The teacher he glared at, who had merely made a passing comment, bristled at his tone. "Gavin, I was stating an objective observation. Don't put words in my mouth. Besides, Garnett got into Apex Academy through sheer talent, not luck. That alone proves he's a cut above you."

"I told you, I was distracted by other commitments! Otherwise, I would've been in Apex ages ago!" Gavin argued fiercely. "Every time you open your mouths, it's 'Apex students this' and 'Apex students that.' What, are regular students just beneath them? So even if I wrote my own song, you're going to slap a 'plagiarized' label on it just to protect him? If you're willing to twist the truth right in front of the president, I can't even imagine what shady backroom deals you pull when he's not around!"

"You—absolute nonsense!" The teacher shot up from his seat, pointing a furious finger at him. "That is blatant slander! I've been teaching for years and have never done anything against my conscience. Keep making baseless accusations about my character, and I will sue you!"

A sudden chill ran down Gavin's spine.

Did someone in this room actually know the song?

"You insolent brat!"

Wade Lane, who had been eerily quiet, slammed his hand on the desk and shot up from his chair. The loud bang startled everyone. They all snapped their heads toward him, terrified to see who had provoked his wrath.
