The Coma Prince’s Fiancée novel Chapter 49

Ableson could tell right away that Norris wasn’t just annoyed—he was genuinely furious.

Norris had been raised with the strict discipline of someone destined to inherit everything. His skills and his self-control were in a league of their own, far beyond what most people could handle.

Now Harriet and Shirley were shamelessly taking advantage of being called his saviors just to make easy money, and they’d clearly pushed him too far.

Sophia had no idea what she’d said wrong. She shrank into herself and stayed completely silent, worried that speaking up would only make things worse.

Paulina’s stomach dropped when Norris’s gaze passed over her. She held her breath, willing her face not to betray her.

Norris was involved now. How was she supposed to prove she had nothing to do with any of this?

Rebecca was the only one in the whole room who seemed completely unconcerned. Even though Norris was practically radiating cold anger, she acted like it didn’t matter at all. When he glanced her way, she even smiled a little, looking almost playful.

Norris noticed the smile tugging at her lips, and his eyes narrowed ever so slightly. If she hadn’t quietly stirred things up, the other four probably would have gotten away with it. Ever since the moment she brought up Harriet’s necklace, everything had spiraled out of control. She clearly wasn’t an innocent bystander.

She really was fearless, even daring to involve him in her schemes.

Strangely, he didn’t actually mind it.

Rebecca realized he was staring at her. She kept her cool on the outside but couldn’t help thinking, Is he mad at me for setting everyone against each other? Is that what this is about?

Ableson picked up on the silent exchange between Norris and Rebecca, and his nerves turned into genuine surprise. Norris usually didn't pay much attention to anyone else’s business, but he definitely acted different around Rebecca. This time, when he’d heard she was coming, he had even arranged for Ableson to meet her at the door.
