Mars ripped the covers off, reaching to drag Autumn out of the bed.

Autumn slapped his hand away, tears still staining her face. “Why would I try to ruin you two? Did I know Lydia was going

to leak that?”

“I have an IV in my hand. How could I have opened that group chat and started a voice call?*

Autumn held up the phone Mars’s friend had smashed “Besides, my phone has been bugging out ever since your friend broke it. It does stuff on its own all the time. It probably glitched out again or I hit something by accident. It’s so unfair for you to blame me for this. Did I say any of those things?”

“What, am I a psychic who knew to open WhatsApp ahead of time?”

“Is she blind? Couldn’t she see what I was doing?”

“And besides, weren’t those your own words anyway?”

At Autumn’s words, a flash of guilt crossed Mars’s face.

He had said all those things.

And he’d said them to Lydia while they were in bed.

Autumn can’t find out about this.

“My stomach hurts so much…”

Seeing Mars avoid her gaze, a flicker of mockery crossed Autumn’s eyes. She clutched her stomach and cried out, “Quick, get a doctor!”

Mars turned and ran out. “Autumn, don’t worry, I’ll get a doctor!”

The moment he left, Lydia lunged at the bed.

Autumn was ready for her, landing a kick squarely in Lydia’s chest.

“Aaargh-

Lydia screamed, falling hard to the floor.

“Autumn, are you crazy?! You actually kicked me! You just wait, I’ll have Mars teach you a lesson!”

There wasn’t a trace of pain on Autumn’s face. She just grinned at Lydia. “Go on, tell him.”

“Hasn’t the way he’s been acting already shown you the reality of the situation?”

“Lydia, I’d give up if I were you. Mars and I are doing just fine, so stop trying to stir up trouble.”

Lydia was about to explode.

She was supposed to have all of Mars’s affection, but she couldn’t say a word of it now.

She knew Mars’s temper. If she messed up his plans, he would never let her get away with it.

“Don’t get so smug! I’ll show you who Mars really loves!”

Fuming, she scrambled up from the floor. But just as she was about to turn and leave, Autumn let out a shriek and slid gently to the ground.

Lydia’s eyes went wide. Before she could say anything, Mars burst back in with a doctor and nurse.

The doctor and nurse were horrified to see the pregnant woman sitting on the floor.

Without a second thought, they rounded on Lydia. “What is wrong with you? Can’t you see the patient fell out of bed?”

Lydia nearly choked on her own frustration.

She was trapped, unable to explain. Autumn was using all of her own tricks against her!

Who was going to speak up for her?!

“Mars…” Lydia sidled up to him, a pitiful look on her face. She was about to explain when Autumn, now being helped back. into bed, looked at Mars with a heartbroken expression. “Lydia said she’s the one you really love. Did you marry me… because of my sister?”

The doctor and nurse froze.

Their eyes widened, soaking up all the drama.

Mars was even more stunned.

“She’s talking nonsense!”

Mars blurted out the denial reflexively, then shoved Lydia’s hand off his arm. “Lydia, how could you say something like that to your sister?”

“How did your sister fall out of bed just now? She’s pregnant! How could you just stand there and do nothing?”

Tears instantly streamed down Lydia’s face.

“You’re blaming me?”

“Sob.. You’re actually blaming me!”

Lydia knew she was hopelessly cornered. When no one was looking, she shot Autumn a venomous glare, then turned and ran out, crying.

“Lydia…”

Mars’s heart ached as he watched Lydia’s slender figure retreat. He instinctively wanted to chase after her, but the image of a pale Autumn lying in the hospital bed made his feet feel like they were encased in lead.

The sight of Mars like this made Autumn sick to her stomach. She looked away, her voice barely a whisper. “You should go check on her.”

“If something happens to her, Dad and her mom will never let me hear the end of it.”

Hearing this, Mars felt an even deeper pang of guilt

But he was worried about Lydia and couldn’t bring himself to say he’d stay. He could only toss out an, “I’ll come back to see you later,” before running after her

Seeing this, the doctor and nurse muttered in unison, “What a scumbag.”

Then, worried the patient might have overheard and gotten upset, they all snapped their mouths shut.

Autumn met their worried gazes, a warmth spreading in her chest. She smiled and said, “Don’t worry. He’ll be my ex–husband soon enough.”

The doctor and nurse found that incredibly satisfying

A guy who’s all over his wife’s sister right in front of his pregnant wife? Total trash!

He should be sentenced to being single for life! Let him and the other woman be stuck with each other!

“There are no major issues. The main thing is to rest and not overexert yourself.”

The doctor noticed that Autumn was actually in great shape and had probably figured out what really happened. As he turned to leave, he gave her a thumbs–up.

The nurse was still a bit confused, but after the doctor explained it to her outside the room, she almost burst into applause.

“Genius! That’s exactly how you deal with a scumbag! Openly bringing his side piece to bully his actual wife…. that guy is a whole new level of trash!”

The doctor was smiling too, but he quickly regained his professional composure. “Alright, let’s not pry into the patient’s private life.”
