THE DIVORCE GAMBIT From Dumped Wife to CEO's Forever novel Chapter 1008

No wonder. No wonder she seemed so outmatched at the beginning.

Hearing this, Levi and Seth's eyes widened. They stared at the two fighters, their disbelief slowly turning to shock, and then to utter astonishment.

They were both trained fighters themselves. They could see that while the situation might look like a stalemate, Caitlin was actually gaining the upper hand. Her attacks were fast, stable, and her movements were incredibly fluid and unpredictable. Adler was bigger and stronger, a force of raw power, but against Caitlin, that brute strength seemed insufficient.

The other students had initially gathered just to watch the spectacle. But as the fight wore on, a sense of excitement and passion began to build within them.

"Whoa! Caitlin is the real deal! It's been three minutes, and Instructor Adler still hasn't won."

"Caitlin is amazing!"

"…"

"Go, goddess, go!" someone in the crowd shouted.

Soon, everyone joined in. "Go, goddess, go!"

"Go! Go! Go!"

This was no longer just a fight between two individuals. It had become a battle between two groups: the students and the instructors. If Caitlin could beat Adler, it would be a huge victory for all of them.

The atmosphere grew more and more intense, and the crowd of onlookers swelled.

"Well, well," said Hastings, another instructor, approaching with an unlit cigarette dangling from his lips. "Looks like Adler's finally met his match."

"You can say that again," Seth said, crossing his arms. "I can't believe how skilled that girl is."

Who would have thought that Adler, the undefeated champion of the military base, would meet his match during a freshman boot camp? And that his opponent would be a young woman, no less.

Who would have ever imagined that Caitlin would actually beat Adler? The students were ecstatic, cheering wildly. In that moment, Caitlin became a legend among the freshmen.

Seth, Levi, Hastings, Baal, and the other instructors were dumbfounded. Although they had mentally prepared for the possibility of Adler losing, they never truly believed it would happen.

Seth swallowed hard. "This is… this is insane."

Hastings narrowed his eyes. "You don't think Adler threw the fight because he's got a thing for her, do you?"

Say what you will, Caitlin was undeniably beautiful.

Baal shook his head. "I doubt it. Adler really met his match this time."

Hastings tossed the unlit cigarette into a nearby trash can and rolled up his sleeves. "I'll find out if he was faking it. That girl's name is Caitlin, right?"
