THE DIVORCE GAMBIT From Dumped Wife to CEO's Forever novel Chapter 1009

He had to see for himself. Hastings would never be convinced otherwise that Caitlin could defeat Adler. This was Adler.

Even Hastings was no match for Adler, so how could Adler possibly lose to some young woman?

"Yes, her name is Caitlin," Seth confirmed.

Hastings smirked and strode forward, looking up at Caitlin. "Caitlin, I'm the instructor for Sixth Platoon, and I'm challenging you to a match!"

"Alright," Caitlin said, cracking her knuckles. The motion was effortlessly cool as she met Hastings's gaze.

She hadn't had her fill of fighting yet. Once a fight started, the adrenaline began to surge, and she relished the thrill of competition.

Hastings's challenge pushed the already electric atmosphere to a new peak.

"Holy crap! Caitlin is on another level! Even Instructor Hastings from Sixth Platoon is challenging her!"

"Who do you think will win this time?"

"That's obvious! Caitlin, of course. She's our goddess."

Seth, Levi, and the other instructors were also on the edge of their seats. They all wanted to know if Caitlin's victory was due to her own skill or if Adler had thrown the fight.

Levi looked at Baal. "Baal, let's make another bet. This time, we're betting on Hastings to win."

"Go, goddess, go!"

The crowd split into two factions: the instructors and the students, each side cheering louder than the other.

Hastings had assumed Adler was holding back. He quickly realized that was not the case. Caitlin was the real deal. Her moves were not only fast, precise, and powerful, but also completely unpredictable. Her fighting style was nothing like that of a young girl; she fought like a battle-hardened warrior.

In less than three moves, Hastings found himself struggling to keep up.

Just as Hastings was trying to figure out his next move, he was on the ground. He didn't even know how it happened. All he felt was a sharp, searing pain in his joints.

"My apologies, Mr. Hastings," Caitlin said, standing over him. She then turned her gaze to the stunned crowd. "Anyone else want to try?"
