Meanwhile, at eleven in the morning, Caitlin arrived home. She hadn't called ahead. The butler, Scales, was astonished to see her. "Miss Caitlin! What are you doing back? I'll go tell the madam right away. She'll be overjoyed to know you're here."

"No, Scales," Caitlin said with a smile. "Just pretend you didn't see me."

Scales understood immediately. Caitlin wanted to surprise her family.

In the small courtyard, Keira, Hannah, Fortune, and Carey were playing cards. A gentle breeze rustled through the leaves, and their laughter filled the air. Monday was sleeping peacefully beside them.

It was a beautiful scene. Caitlin took out her phone and snapped a picture.

Suddenly, Monday shot up from his slumber as if struck by lightning. He sniffed the air, then bolted in her direction. "Woof! Woof! Woof!"

They were all shocked. "Is that true, Freya?"

"Of course, it's true." Caitlin pulled out the official leave slip signed by the university administration and Adler. "If you don't believe me, you can see for yourselves."

The four elders took the slip and examined it closely. Only after seeing the official university seal did they finally believe it was real.

For the next few days, Caitlin spent her time with the elders, going shopping, visiting parks, and eating out. Since the break was unexpectedly long, Caitlin even carved out eight days to take the three of them on a trip abroad with Carey. Joyful times always seem to fly by.
