THE DIVORCE GAMBIT From Dumped Wife to CEO's Forever novel Chapter 1036

As she was wiping his face, Gordon suddenly spoke. "I... I think I'm going to be sick."

"Quick, to the bathroom."

Caitlin helped him into the bathroom. The moment they got there, he leaned over the toilet and started retching violently.

Caitlin bent over, patting his back while she spoke. "Didn't I tell you? If you can't handle it, it's okay to drink less. Why do you have to be so stubborn?"

"I'm not drunk... I'm not drunk at all. I can hold my liquor..." Before he could finish the sentence, another wave of nausea hit him.

Caitlin was exasperated. "You're throwing up like this. Can you please stop being so bullheaded?"

She had no idea where he'd picked up that habit.

"No, I won't. I'm going to be bullheaded!"

Caitlin was speechless.

Gordon continued to alternate between talking and vomiting.

Caitlin opened a bottle of mineral water and handed it to him. "Drink some water."

Gordon took the water and drank a large gulp. He seemed to clear his head a bit, then stumbled to the sink. "I... I need to brush my teeth."

Even though he had rinsed his mouth, the smell of alcohol was overpowering and unpleasant.

He picked up the toothpaste, swaying on his feet. He squeezed and squeezed but couldn't get any out. Growing frustrated, Gordon slammed the tube down on the counter. "This is so annoying! Why is this toothpaste being so disobedient today?"

Caitlin sighed. "You're squeezing the wrong end, big guy."

"Huh??" Gordon turned to look at her, his gaze hazy. "Actually, I did that on purpose! Ha, didn't expect that, did you?"

Caitlin shot him a look. "If you keep this up, I'm going to hit you."

His head ached.

He raised a hand to his temple, fragmented memories flashing through his mind. He vaguely remembered Caitlin bringing him home last night.

"Boss!" Gordon called out.

"You're awake?" Caitlin walked in from the other room.

"Boss, you're really here. Looks like my memory hasn't failed me yet." Gordon threw off the covers, got out of bed, and walked over to Caitlin, wrapping her in a hug. "Thanks for staying and taking care of me last night, boss."

Caitlin smiled. "Go get washed up and come eat. I ordered takeout."

"Okay, I'll go right now."

Even though it was already past eleven in the morning, someone recovering from a hangover shouldn't eat anything too greasy. So, Caitlin had ordered milk and bacon sandwiches for both of them.
