THE DIVORCE GAMBIT From Dumped Wife to CEO's Forever novel Chapter 1043

Hannah presented Caitlin with a large, pre-prepared gift. "Wishing my Freya peace, joy, and a prosperous new year."

"Thank you, Grandma." Caitlin took out a scarf and personally wrapped it around Hannah's neck. "I knitted this for you myself. Even my other grandma didn't get one."

Hannah was delighted. "Granddaughters are the best, so thoughtful. Not like those rowdy boys who only know how to give me headaches."

"Mom," Carey said, walking over with a smile. "You really do forget about your daughter the moment your granddaughter shows up."

Hannah glanced at Carey. "No one is as good as my Freya!"

At dinner that evening, Hannah sat next to Caitlin, piling food onto her plate. "Catie, I heard from your brother Norris a while back that he met your boyfriend?"

"Yes, he did," Caitlin nodded slightly.

Hannah smiled. "Norris said the young man seemed decent in every respect. Since he's a good guy, you two should take your time getting to know each other. If he ever bullies you, you tell Grandma, and I'll have your uncles and all your brothers go back you up."

"Okay, Grandma." Caitlin looked at Hannah. "Don't worry, he won't bully me."

"You never know. Men are the best at putting on an act. Who knows if the way he treats you now is genuine!" Hannah said as she peeled a shrimp for Caitlin. "You're still young, so don't rush into marriage. Date for a couple of years. When you're with someone, you can't just look at their good qualities; you have to see their flaws too."

"You need to understand his character completely before you can consider if he's someone worth entrusting your life to."

Caitlin took Hannah's words to heart.

Although...

She really hadn't found any flaws in Gordon so far.

Since they celebrated the New Year in The Capital, the family decided to stay in Neon Spire a while longer to spend more time with Hannah.

Two weeks into the new year, Stuart returned to The Capital to bring Fortune and Keira to Neon Spire.

It wasn't until the fourth week of the new year that the family of five finally returned to The Capital.

--

Spring turned to autumn.

Caitlin had brought her DSLR camera specifically for the occasion.

"Me too, me too!" Elsa added as she headed for the stage, also turning back to Caitlin. "Catie, make sure you get a good one of me too."

"Of course," Caitlin nodded.

Elsa was about to give more instructions, but Caitlin cut her off with a smile. "I know, I know. Don't worry, I'll make you both look absolutely stunning! Now get on stage!"

Elsa was finally reassured.

For the next while, Caitlin was busy taking photos—for her class, for classmates she didn't know.

Elsa looked at Caitlin. "Catie, we haven't taken a photo of the three of us together yet! This is a rare opportunity, let's get one now, okay?"

"Sure," Caitlin agreed.

"I'll find someone to take it for us." Elsa immediately waved at a boy not far away. "Warner Linwood, come over here! The three of us need a group photo."
