THE DIVORCE GAMBIT From Dumped Wife to CEO's Forever novel Chapter 1081

"Mom, I really can't eat anymore."

"No grapes?" Beatrice rummaged through her bag again, pulling out a container of peeled grapefruit. "Then have some grapefruit."

"Oh, and cherries! This year's cherries are excellent."

"Catie, if you're thirsty, I also brought you some bottled water."

Caitlin watched in astonishment as Beatrice, like a little hamster, produced bottled water and various other drinks from her purse.

"Mom, what don't you have in this bag?" she asked, amazed.

Beatrice puffed out her chest with pride. "What can I say? Your mom's just that good!"

Caitlin chuckled. "You certainly are."

With Beatrice having brought so much, Caitlin couldn't refuse everything. She took a sip of water and then ate a small bread roll. Strangely enough, she hadn't felt hungry before, but as she started eating, her appetite suddenly kicked in. After finishing the roll, she had a few grapes.

Soon, Gordon returned with their ticket from the queue. "Honey, we need to go to the second floor for some blood work, then to the third floor for an ultrasound."

"Okay, let's go then," Caitlin said, standing up.

Her sudden movement startled Beatrice. "Catie, slow down! You don't want to pull anything."

Caitlin smiled back at her. "Mom, I'm not that fragile."

They went up to the second floor and began the series of tests.

After finishing on the second floor, they moved up to the third.

About an hour later, the results were ready. The doctor studied the ultrasound report for a long time before looking up at Caitlin. "According to these results, you're currently almost four weeks pregnant. And, based on the ultrasound, it looks like you might be expecting twins. However, since it's only been four weeks, the gestational sac, fetal pole, and heartbeat aren't fully developed, so we can't be certain. I recommend you come back for another check-up in two weeks."

Normally, it's only after six weeks that multiple pregnancies can be confirmed.

"Thank you, doctor, thank you so much," Beatrice said, overjoyed, her face crinkling into a wide smile.

If the doctor said eighty percent, she was taking that as a hundred percent. It had to be twins.

"You're welcome."

Gordon looked at Caitlin. "Honey, did you hear that? Twins! It must be two girls!"

Two little girls who looked just like Caitlin!

The more Gordon thought about it, the happier he became, as if he could already see two adorable, sweet daughters waving at him.

"What if it's two boys?" Caitlin asked, her eyes crinkling at the corners.

"It can't be two boys, I have a feeling," Gordon insisted. "Even if it's not two girls, it'll be a boy and a girl. But definitely not two boys."
