THE DIVORCE GAMBIT From Dumped Wife to CEO's Forever novel Chapter 1108

As she spoke those last words, Carey nearly collapsed.

Her face was as white as a sheet, and if Stuart hadn't freed a hand to steady her, she might have fainted.

"Carey, what is it? What did the call say?"

Caitlin and Gordon also looked at Carey, their expressions tense.

Though Carey hadn't said anything yet, her reaction filled them all with a terrible sense of dread.

When Carey finally spoke, her voice was hoarse with emotion. "That was my brother. He… he said Mom might not have much time left. He wants us to come back immediately to say our goodbyes."

Say their goodbyes? How could that be?

At her words, Stuart's face fell, and his eyes reddened. "How is that possible? Your mother was perfectly fine the last time she visited."

Hannah had come for the birth of the babies and had stayed in the Capital until after their one-month celebration.

Since then, Carey and Stuart had flown to Neon Spire to visit her.

They had just seen her a little over two months ago.

Although Hannah was nearly ninety-seven, she had been in remarkable health. The last time they saw her, she was still spry enough to kick pebbles out of her way while walking. Everyone had said she would easily live to be one hundred and twenty.

This sudden news was something Stuart simply couldn't accept.

He quickly added, "Don't panic, Carey. Maybe the doctors got it wrong. I’m sure your mom will be okay."

Caitlin looked at her mother. "Mom, ask Uncle Warren to send a video of Grandma. Let me take a look."

Even though she wasn't there in person, traditional medicine emphasized observation. A video might reveal something.

"Okay." Carey immediately picked up her phone to message Warren Richards.

At those words, Carey felt a wave of dizziness wash over her.

Caitlin's medical skills were undeniable. If she said something like that, it meant there was truly no hope.

Keira turned to Gordon. "Gordon, when you book the tickets, please get two for me and Fortune as well. We need to be there to say our final goodbyes to her."

This would be their last chance. If they didn't go now, they would never see her again.

"Of course," Gordon said, nodding as he quickly completed the booking.

The flight was in two hours. The family, with the three babies in tow, rushed to the airport.

An hour and a half later, they were boarding the plane.

Since there were so many of them, Gordon had booked the entire business class cabin.
