THE DIVORCE GAMBIT From Dumped Wife to CEO's Forever novel Chapter 1109

After getting the three babies to sleep, Keira said, her eyes red, "No wonder the babies have been so fussy ever since Gordon and Freya left for their trip. They wouldn't let anyone but family hold them. Hannah must have been visiting them."

The older generation held certain beliefs. Though death was the end, they believed that in the moments before passing, a person's spirit could travel, revisiting their life and seeking out those they held most dear.

And who did Hannah care about most? Who was she most worried about? It was Carey, Caitlin, and her newborn great-grandchildren.

So, perhaps Hannah's spirit really had come to see the children.

Adults, with their stronger life force, couldn't perceive such things. But it was said that very young children could, and seeing a spirit would make them feel insecure and cause them to cry incessantly.

Fortune nodded. "We have the same saying in my hometown."

Meanwhile, in Neon Spire.

Hannah lay in bed, her face pale and an oxygen tube under her nose. She was too weak to speak.

As fate would have it, just three days before Hannah's health took a turn, all eight of her sons had returned for a clan meeting. Her thirteen grandchildren, their spouses, and her great-grandchildren had also come back.

Now, the entire family was gathered around Hannah's bed, their faces grim, waiting for the doctor's verdict.

After a few minutes, the doctor removed his stethoscope.

Warren asked immediately, "Doctor, how is my mother?"

Everyone turned to the doctor, their eyes filled with a desperate hope.

Jade, kneeling by the bed, held Hannah's hand. "Mom, if you're waiting for Carey and Freya, just blink for us."

Hannah's eyelids fluttered.

Molly Archer moved closer to the bed. "Mom, Carey and Freya have already boarded their flight. They'll be here in just over three hours. You have to hold on a little longer."

Hannah blinked again.

For the next few hours, the entire Richards family stayed in Hannah's bedroom, not wanting to miss her final moments. They prayed silently, hoping Caitlin and Carey would arrive quickly, so their matriarch could pass without any regrets.

Three hours later, the butler rushed in. "Sir! They are back!"
