Catching her son's signal, Frieda didn't press the matter further. She simply nodded and said, "You're right, you're right. Elsa is part of our family now. We have plenty of time."
Though Frieda didn't know what had happened, she wasn't worried. Caitlin wasn't going anywhere. As long as Elsa was their family, Caitlin would eventually visit their home. After all, they were the best of friends.
After the meal, Elsa gathered the dishes, ready to wash them. Since the Forresters were being so kind to her, she wanted to make a good impression and quickly become part of the family. Elsa was not an ungrateful person; if someone was good to her, she would be ten times better in return.
Seeing Elsa head for the sink, Xander's father took the plates from her hands. "Elsa, you married into our family to be cherished, not to be a maid. We have never had a tradition of making our family do the dishes."
He had heard everything from his son. Elsa's best friend was Caitlin. In the future, the Forresters and the Sylvesters would be joined by their children's marriage. At a crucial time like this, they had to treat Elsa exceptionally well. Only by keeping Elsa happy would she be willing to bring up the idea of a future match to Caitlin.
Elsa was stunned again. Xander's father seemed so quiet and serious, but he was just as kind to her as everyone else. She must have been incredibly fortunate to have met Xander and his wonderful family.
How lucky she was! How incredibly lucky!
Frieda quickly chimed in, "Your father is right, Elsa. Go back to your room and rest. I can handle the cleaning and dishes."
Elsa smiled. "It's okay, Mom. I often help my own mom with the dishes at home."
"That's at your parents' house," Frieda said with a grin. "You're married into our family now, so you should relax and enjoy yourself. A married woman can't be compared to an unmarried girl, can she?"
No one could imagine how moved Elsa was in that moment. Her eyes immediately turned red as she looked at Frieda. "Mom, Dad, you're both so good to me."
Frieda replied, "What silly things are you saying, child? You're our daughter-in-law, which means you're our daughter. Who else would we be good to?"
Xander's father nodded in agreement. "Your mother's right. It's our duty to be good to you."

So happy for Carey, the reunion with her family is touching. Can we read more of Caitlin and Gordon? Readers are forgetting that Caitlin has a boyfriend by the way. Is it normal for their relationship to be erased in the storyline?...
Update please......
But where is Gordon?...
