THE DIVORCE GAMBIT From Dumped Wife to CEO's Forever novel Chapter 989

"Three thousand per person?" Nicolette's eyes widened. "Oh my god! My mom only makes forty-five hundred a month. That means this one meal would cost more than eighty percent of her salary."

It was true.

The lives of the wealthy were something that people from the lower class could never imagine.

But luckily, she knew Charis now.

Charis rolled her eyes in annoyance at the comment.

Commoners were so unrefined.

If it weren't for the fact that the real heiresses of The Capital's elite circle wouldn't associate with her, she would never hang out with people like Nicolette and Yvette.

It was disgusting.

Yvette frowned. "If it's so expensive here, how can Caitlin's real estate agent boyfriend afford it?"

Three thousand per person at an omakase restaurant meant six thousand for two people.

Six thousand might not seem like a lot, but for a single meal, it was a huge sum, especially for someone like Caitlin.

"They're just putting on a show," Charis said, her eyes narrowing. "Do they really think eating one omakase meal will magically turn them into rich people? A goose may look a bit like a swan, but they are worlds apart."

Nicolette nodded. "You're right, Miss Gonzales. Caitlin and her boyfriend are definitely just punching above their weight."

Yvette added, "She probably only came here because she knew you were bringing us to eat omakase!"

"Exactly."

The thought made Charis even more disgusted. She muttered, "Shameless copycat."

What did Caitlin have going for her besides her face? Nothing.

Even her boyfriend was a nobody.

--

It was eight-thirty in the evening when Caitlin returned to the dorm.

With military training starting the day after tomorrow, she washed up and immediately started applying a face mask.

After smoothing the mask onto her face, she opened her skincare bag, took out four boxes of masks, and handed them to Elsa and Gertrude. "Elsa, Gertrude, this brand of mask is really good. I bought too many, so take two boxes each."

Gonzales Holdings specialized in skincare products, so Caitlin had brought a lot of masks with her.

Then, she gave another set to Elsa. "Elsa, you take this set. Otherwise, it'll just be a waste when it expires."

Elsa immediately jumped up and hugged Caitlin. "Catie, thank you!"

Gertrude also looked at Caitlin. "Thank you, Catie."

"You're welcome."

After handing out the gifts, Caitlin sat in her chair, scrolling through videos on her phone while her mask worked its magic.

"Miss Gonzales! Miss Gonzales!"

Suddenly, an urgent voice called out from outside.

Caitlin, still in her chair with the mask on, heard someone call "Miss Gonzales." For a moment, she forgot she was in her dorm and thought she was back in the Gonzales Holdings lab. Without thinking, she answered.

"What is it?"

Hearing Caitlin's response, Yvette burst out laughing.

She looked at Caitlin and sneered, "Don't be so full of yourself. I wasn't calling you! I was calling Charis. Do you even know who Charis is? She's Freya, the heiress of the number one family in The Capital, the Gonzales family! You have some nerve. Who do you think you are, to dare to imitate someone like her?"
