Gordon couldn't believe his luck was this bad.
Time and time again, he kept running into Caitlin's parents.
He was genuinely panicking.
"Hahaha!"
Seeing him like this, Caitlin burst out laughing.
Gordon's reaction was just too funny.
She laughed so hard tears came to her eyes.
It was only when he heard Caitlin's laughter that Gordon realized he'd been tricked. He immediately moved to her side, wrapped an arm around her neck, and guided her into the car. "I'll deal with you later!"
With that, he closed her door and walked around to the driver's seat.
Even after they were in the car, Caitlin was still laughing.
Gordon glanced at her. "My princess, can you please stop laughing?"
"I can't," Caitlin said, looking at him with a grin. "I should have recorded that. You have no idea how much funnier your reaction was than a comedy show."
And with that, she started laughing again.
Gordon fastened his seatbelt and turned to look at her, his deep eyes as dark as ink. His voice was low as he enunciated each word, "Stop. Laughing."
"I won't."
Without another word, Gordon unbuckled the seatbelt he had just fastened. He leaned over, one hand cupping the back of her head, the other tilting her chin up, and silenced her laughter with a kiss.
Several minutes later, he finally pulled away. His voice was a little hoarse as he looked at her. "Still laughing?"
"Not anymore," Caitlin said, sitting up properly and fastening her seatbelt. "Let's go eat. I'm starving."
Only then did Gordon leisurely buckle his own seatbelt and start the car.
"Where are we going for dinner tonight?" Caitlin asked.
"There's a really good omakase place nearby. I made a reservation," Gordon replied.
"Okay," Caitlin nodded. "Let's give it a try."
The food at omakase restaurants was usually just okay, but the ambiance was nice and the drinks were good. It was a nice change of pace every once in a while.
Soon, they arrived at the Japanese restaurant.
The atmosphere was excellent. Gordon had booked a private room and even hired a violinist to play for them.
After dinner, they left the restaurant.
"Master Ninth, Miss Gonzales."
Gordon's assistant was waiting at the entrance.
"Probably bought it secondhand!" Yvette cut in, eyes darting to Charis. "Miss Gonzales, not even your driver would be caught in a car like that, right?"
Charis's eyes were full of scorn, her expression one of utter superiority. "You're right. At our house, even the maid who does the grocery shopping drives an Audi."
What was new money?
It was someone who had to jingle the ten cents in their pocket to make sure everyone heard it.
Charis's father, Livingston Gonzales, had made his fortune in mining years ago and wanted the whole world to know he was rich.
Charis's current behavior was a perfect reflection of her father's.
Yvette and Nicolette were full of envy.
Nicolette said, "My dad also drives an Audi, and he had to take out a loan for it. I can't believe even a grocery maid at a rich person's house drives an Audi."
Yvette was practically green with envy.
"Alright, alright, let's not talk about her. It's ruining the mood," Charis said, lazily averting her gaze. "Let's go inside."
Yvette and Nicolette followed Charis.
As they entered the restaurant, Nicolette couldn't help but sigh. "The decor here is amazing! Look, all the customers are carrying designer bags! Omakase really is for rich people."
Yvette added, "Miss Gonzales, a meal here must be very expensive, right?"
"Not really," Charis said, following the waiter to their table. "It's only about three thousand per person."

So happy for Carey, the reunion with her family is touching. Can we read more of Caitlin and Gordon? Readers are forgetting that Caitlin has a boyfriend by the way. Is it normal for their relationship to be erased in the storyline?...
Update please......
