Chapter 35 I’ll Take Full Responsibility for Any Consequences
Evelyn Hart opened her bag and took out the silver needles.
Grayson Hayes and Caleb Gray tacitly stepped aside, leaving the stage to Evelyn Hart.
But before Evelyn Hart could start, several doctors suddenly stepped forward, looking at her with disapproval.
“Little girl, what are you planning to do?”
They blocked Evelyn Hart’s way, their expressions full of suspicion.
“The patient’s condition is critical. This isn’t something a little girl like you should meddle in.”
Their eyes turned to Caleb Gray as they said in a solemn voice, “Dr. Gray, we know you’re good friends with our master, but it might not be appropriate to bring such a young girl here.”
They were some of the top doctors in the country.
Naturally, they didn’t want a young girl to take over their work.
Wouldn’t that mean they were incompetent?
Evelyn Hart stepped forward and explained calmly, “Everyone, I understand you think I’m too young, but you’re also aware of the patient’s condition. We need to come up with a plan as soon as possible.”
“The worst-case scenario is already here, but there’s always a chance if we try.”
The doctors didn’t take kindly to Evelyn Hart’s words. Instead, they became even more serious.
“Since you know the situation, you should know better than to act rashly. The patient is in a critical condition. If you come up with the wrong plan, the patient could die on the spot. You can’t use him as your guinea pig.”
The doctors talked one after another, all with the same meaning.
Evelyn Hart’s actions were completely disregarding the patient’s safety, and they wouldn’t allow it.
Seeing the situation, Caleb Gray’s face darkened, and he snapped, “Enough! Since you don’t want Evelyn to handle it, do you have a better plan?”
As soon as these words were spoken, the atmosphere in the room fell silent. The doctors looked at each other but didn’t dare to say anything.
Their faces turned dark. Caleb Gray was right. They had been researching for so long but still couldn’t find a suitable
treatment plan.
One of the doctors at the front stepped forward and snorted, “True, we don’t have any good ideas, but at least we can keep him alive.”
“What about the girl you brought? If she makes a mistake, he could lose his life. Besides, with so many of us unable to do anything, what good ideas could a little girl have?”
Evelyn Hart smiled modestly and assured them, “I just have some ideas. Although they might not work, I can guarantee that the patient won’t be in life-threatening danger.”
The doctors were skeptical and even sneered.
“Anyone can say such big words. Anyway, this is our patient, and we won’t agree.”
“If something goes wrong, not only you but all of us here will be considered accomplices.”
The doctors refused to budge. Evelyn Hart looked extremely troubled, and the scene became chaotic.
Finally, Grayson Hayes stepped forward, looked at everyone, and said sternly, “Enough! I’ll take full responsibility for any consequences.”
His gaze landed on Evelyn Hart, and his eyes softened a little.
“Miss Hart, I’m counting on you.”

Evelyn Hart nodded, relieved.
Without Grayson Hayes, she really wouldn’t have been able to forcefully treat the patient.
The doctors looked at each other, angry but helpless.
Especially when they saw Evelyn Hart take out the silver needles and insert them into the patient’s acupoints, the disdain in their eyes reached its peak.
“Is this acupuncture? We’ve already tried it, and it didn’t work at all.”
“Surgery didn’t work, so what good can traditional Chinese medicine do? I told you, this girl is just messing around.”
“No wonder she said there’s no life-threatening danger. The medications in traditional Chinese medicine are relatively conservative, but what’s the use of such an attempt? It’s a waste of time.”
The doctors all expressed their disapproval.
Evelyn Hart wasn’t affected and continued to focus on controlling the needles.
On the contrary, Grayson Hayes found the doctors’ remarks very annoying.
He glanced at them indifferently and said coldly, “All of you, get out.”
The doctors immediately fell silent.
Grayson Hayes sneered at them. Since there was no more noise, he didn’t bother to drive them out.
An hour later, Evelyn Hart pulled out all the silver needles and checked the old man’s pulse again.
She furrowed her brows, and her expression became even graver.
After a while, she slowly withdrew her hand and let out a silent sigh.
Grayson Hayes and Caleb Gray asked simultaneously, “How is it?”
Evelyn Hart shook her head and said with a hint of apology, “Sorry, there’s only a little effect, not much. The result isn’t ideal.”
But the two of them didn’t look discouraged. Instead, they seemed somewhat delighted.
“You mean there’s an effect? It seems our research direction is right.”
The doctors in the room also immediately gathered around. Looking at the patient’s vital signs, their eyes were filled
with shock.
Although the effect was minimal, it was enough to astonish them.
They had been discussing treatment plans day and night for the past six months.

They had tried countless methods, but the old man’s condition had only been deteriorating.
Now there were actually signs of improvement?
Indeed, young talents often emerge.
In the room, everyone except Evelyn Hart was excited.
Only Evelyn Hart still looked grave.
She walked out of the room and sat on a bench in the yard, feeling heavy-hearted.
Grayson Hayes sat beside her and comforted her with a smile, “Don’t be sad. You’ve already done an amazing job.”
Evelyn Hart wasn’t consoled and still shook her head.
“I thought this method would work before. Now it seems it’s not that simple.”
“No wonder Caleb said he needed my help. This patient is really difficult to treat.”
Grayson Hayes’ tone remained gentle, without the slightest hint of anger.
“You don’t know. Those doctors in the room have been researching for half a year, but the condition has been getting

worse.”
“Today, with you here, although there’s no significant improvement, at least the condition has been stabilized. I believe that sooner or later, we’ll come up with the right treatment plan.”
Evelyn Hart nodded, feeling much more relaxed.
“Yeah, I believe there will always be a way.”
Thanks to this treatment plan, although Caleb Gray’s friend’s condition didn’t improve significantly, it was temporarily stabilized and no longer deteriorating.
Caleb Gray became even more convinced that Evelyn Hart was the one who could save his friend and had full confidence in her.
On one hand, Evelyn Hart felt the pressure, and on the other hand, she actively threw herself into study, starting to try different acupuncture methods and acupoints.
Unfortunately, the effect was still minimal. Evelyn Hart spent every day thinking about how to adjust the treatment
plan.
On her way home, Evelyn Hart walked while thinking about what else could be improved.
Just then, she suddenly heard an urgent voice beside her.
“Help! Somebody, please help!”
