Chapter 40 If You Become Famous, Don’t Forget Me
“Make way, everyone.”
Evelyn Hart shouted loudly from behind the crowd and squeezed through with her slender body. As she pushed forward, she kept shouting that she was a doctor.
Hearing her shouts, the crowd quickly reacted and made a narrow path for her. Soon, she reached the center of the
accident.
The traffic police were already directing the scene as quickly as possible.
Both cars were severely damaged. The doors were smashed in, and the airbags had deployed.
In the front car, there was an old couple and a little girl. All three of them were lying on the ground, covered in blood and unconscious.
The car behind was a truck, and the driver was also in a coma, with the front of the truck caved in.
The traffic police saw Evelyn Hart break through and was about to ask her something, but Evelyn Hart explained first. “I’m a doctor. They need emergency treatment now.”
The traffic police understood the urgency and immediately cooperated with Evelyn Hart. “Okay. Is there anything else you need?”
Without hesitation, Evelyn Hart went to the injured and crouched down. “Call an ambulance first. I don’t need anything else for now.”
The traffic police nodded. “I’ve already called.”
After that, he stood aside, ready to respond to Evelyn Hart’s requests for help.
In the chaotic and tense atmosphere, Evelyn Hart quickly assessed the condition of the injured. “The patients are temporarily unconscious. I need a safe environment. Please don’t let anyone barge in and avoid secondary injuries to the patients.”
After that, she gently patted the patient on the shoulder and shouted beside him. “Wake up, sir. Are you okay?”
Evelyn Hart tried three times. When she was sure the patient had no clear consciousness, she quickly moved on to the
next step.
She laid all the patients flat, put her ear close to their mouths and noses, and watched their chests to see if there was
any movement.
Finally, she placed the heel of her left hand on the patient’s chest, put her right hand on top of her left, crossed them, and used the strength of her body to press on the chest.
Using her professional medical knowledge, she quickly took emergency measures.
Evelyn Hart’s attention was fully on the patients. When she saw that the patient still didn’t respond, she was about to give artificial respiration.
Just as she was about to start, someone grabbed her, and a familiar voice came to her ears. “Let me do it. You go and save the others.”
Evelyn Hart turned around, surprise flashing in her eyes. It was Grayson Hayes who had come back.
This was a critical moment for the patient, and Evelyn Hart didn’t have time to ask him why he had returned. She quickly handed over the first aid to Grayson Hayes. “Okay. You give him artificial respiration, and I’ll go check on the child.”
Grayson Hayes nodded and didn’t say anything more.
He had been about to leave but heard the commotion and came to take a look. Who would have thought he would see Evelyn Hart saving people? He immediately ran over to help her.

With Grayson Hayes’s help, Evelyn Hart felt much less pressure. The two of them were like partners who had worked together for years, and their cooperation was seamless.
Soon, the injured received timely treatment, and their condition gradually stabilized. After performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation, when the patient’s heart started beating again, the ambulance finally arrived. Evelyn Hart briefly explained the emergency treatment she had given to the doctors and handed over the injured to the medical staff.
The doctors nodded and praised Evelyn Hart’s actions. “You did the right thing. Fortunately, your timely treatment bought time for the patient.”
Evelyn Hart and Grayson Hayes stood together and watched the ambulance drive away.
The traffic police started to disperse the crowd. Evelyn Hart and Grayson Hayes looked at each other and smiled.
At this moment, silence spoke louder than words, and everything was understood without being said.
At this moment, Evelyn Hart and Grayson Hayes both had a strange feeling in their hearts.
There seemed to be a new connection between them, a tacit understanding that went beyond friendship.
After seeing off the patients, Grayson Hayes walked up to Evelyn Hart and invited her to have a late-night snack. “The matter is resolved. How about having a late-night snack together?”
After what had just happened, Evelyn Hart’s sad mood had long since dissipated.
After the busy work, she was indeed hungry and nodded in agreement. “Sure. I remember there’s a restaurant nearby. The food there is good. Do you want me to take you there?”
Grayson Hayes was taken aback and then smiled. “I’m not sure if it’s the same place. I also have a favorite restaurant near here. The food is good, but it’s not very famous.”
Evelyn Hart blinked and didn’t say anything. She led the way.
Standing in front of the familiar restaurant, there were little stars in Grayson Hayes’s eyes, gentle and bright. “It seems
our tastes are very similar.”
The two of them walked in side by side. It was obvious that Grayson Hayes was a regular customer. As soon as they reached the front desk, the boss smiled at him and spoke familiarly. “The usual?”
Grayson Hayes shook his head, glanced at Evelyn Hart, and raised an eyebrow. “Not today. Get us a private room. I brought a friend. Send the menu in later.”
The boss’s eyes landed on Evelyn Hart, and his gaze became even softer. He teased Grayson Hayes. “Oh, your girlfriend? She’s so beautiful. You have a good eye. Such a nice girl, you’re so lucky.”
Evelyn Hart was stunned and lowered her head, her ears turning red.
Since she got married, she had never been called beautiful. The most she had heard was that she wasn’t worthy of
Ethan Miller.
Grayson Hayes smiled and looked at Evelyn Hart meaningfully. “Not yet. You’re right. Such a beautiful girl, how could I be so lucky?”
Evelyn Hart listened to the conversation between Grayson Hayes and the boss. Although she knew Grayson Hayes was just joking, she felt a different emotion in her heart, and her heart started beating faster.
She tried to suppress this emotion, closed her eyes, and warned herself.
Evelyn Hart, you’re still not divorced. Don’t drag others down.
When she opened her eyes again, her emotions had calmed down. She followed Grayson Hayes to the private room.
The menu was quickly brought in. Grayson Hayes casually handed it to Evelyn Hart. “See what you like. Order whatever you want. It’s on me.”

Evelyn Hart took the menu, her thoughts in a turmoil.
When she went out to eat with Ethan Miller, he only cared about himself and never asked what she wanted to eat.
In Ethan Miller’s eyes, she was a nanny, William Miller’s mother, but never his wife, someone who deserved respect. Evelyn Hart pulled her thoughts back, ordered a few dishes, and handed the menu back to Grayson Hayes.
“Just these.”
Unexpectedly, Grayson Hayes frowned, his tone clearly showing dissatisfaction.
“Is that all? No wonder you look so weak. Eat well. Only with good health can you have a future.”
As he spoke, he took the menu and ordered several signature dishes, which were quite expensive.
Evelyn Hart hesitated to speak. Grayson Hayes seemed to see her concerns and smiled.
“I said I’m treating you. This little money is not even enough for me to go on a trip. With a rich friend like me, feel free to take advantage. Just don’t forget about me if you become famous.”
