The Dragon's Queen (Karisma) novel Chapter 41

Third Person POV

Susie and Sally were just spending time with their dad before he stood and told them they were going to

the hospital to see someone. They were worried that their mommy or one of their other dads would be hurt really badly.

Holding each other’s hands, they followed their dad to the hospital room. It was in the alpha wing, so it had to be someone from their family. When the door opened, and they saw a strange man inside… they

became confused.

Still silently walking behind her dad, they noticed that their mommy, daddy (Luca), and pops (Jeremiah) were all inside, but they were fine. Sally looked towards the bed and saw a young woman in it. Her face looked a bit like their mommy’s, but she had dark hair with blond streaks.

Sally squeezed her twin’s hand. They were clever for their age and knew that their parents wouldn’t be

there unless there was a reason for it. Susie looked over to her twin and then followed her line of sight to

the bed.

Being twins, they were able to mind link with each other. ‘Who is that girl?‘ Susie asked her big sister. She

tried to sniff the air, but the medical smells were too strong for her little nose to filter through.

Sally looked closely at the girl before looking towards her parents. She knew something was going on, but

she didn’t want to get her sister’s hopes up. Sally and her siblings all knew that they had a missing sister

out there, but no one ever showed them what she looked like. ‘I’m not sure. Let’s get closer.‘ Sally

responded.

Their mother only had one picture of their sister, and it was kept in their mother’s locket. One night, Sally looked into the locket and saw their mother holding baby Gabriel and another baby. Both of them were still dirty and red from their birth, but Sally saw that their sister had the same colored hair that this girl had.

Everyone moved towards one side of the room to speak in hushed voices, while Susie and Sally were still near Karisma. They heard the slight spike in her heart rate and moved to each side of her.

Tuning out the adults, Susie and Sally watched as tattoo looking marks appeared on the girl’s wrist. It looked like the patterns that the twins saw on the pots when they watched the Disney movie Hercules.

Then all of a sudden, Karisma sat up. Gasping for breath. Sally and Susle looked at each other and knew what to do. The twins were gifted with a calming aura that would intensify when they hummed. It didn’t matter what they hummed as long as it was slow and relaxing.

Hugging the girl from each side, the twins began to hurn. Slowly, Karisma’s eye focused as her breathing slowed down to the same pace as the twins‘ were humming. Susie and Sally felt their eyes glow. Just like all their siblings. They got their other souls at the age of six, even though none of them can shift. Susie’s bear, Rosie, and Sally’s vampire, Marle, took in the scent of the girl in front of them. The girl didn’t

have the same scent as their siblings, but they felt the kin bond snapping into place. They knew who she was, especially Marie. But before they could tell their humans the good news, they felt their mother calling to them. ‘Do not say anything. No one can know until she is of age.’ Artemis said.

Rosie and Marie didn’t like keeping, but they knew better than to go against their mother. They looked through their humans‘ eyes as they watched their elder sister calm down and breathe normally.

Karisma was stunned to see the two little girls, but she smiled brightly at them. “Thank you for helping me. What are your names?” she asked. Susie and Sally smiled as they both climbed up on the bed and sat on Karisma’s legs.

“I’m Susie.” “And I’m Sally.” The twins spoke. Karisma smiled at each little girl. “It is nice to meet you, Susie. Sally. My name is Karisma, but my friends call me Kari or K.” She said with a wink. The girls all giggled. Drake came closer. Wanting to make sure that his cub was alright. She may have more wolf and vampire genes than bear, but that never mattered to any of the kings.

Their children were loved and cherished by all three of them, and Drake was not very happy to learn that it was divine intervention that kept his princess from him. They would let it go eventually, but any good parent would not like being kept from their child, no matter the reason. Though now that she was back, everything could be like it was.

Drake cleared his throat to get the girls‘ attention. “Susie. Sally. We need to have a grown up talk with Karisma. Would you mind going with Willow and Jason to the cafeteria for lunch?” he asked. Willow and Jason stepped up to watch the twins while Karisma got up to speed.

“Okay, Dad.” the twins said in unison. They hugged Karisma once more before jumping off the bed and taking Willow’s and Jason’s hands.

Once the door was closed, Karisma looked up at the people who were in the room. She was with her birth parents and the parents who adopted her and raised her. Sabrina was also still there.

“Karisma, what do you remember?” Sabrina asked, not knowing how Karisma woke up after Dr. Soran gave her the medication. Karisma took a deep breath. “I remember everything.” she said. Karisma then looked up at Melody, Drake, Jeremiah, and Luca. “And I think I might know a little more than you. I was actually speaking with the gods before they woke me up.” She said.

Everyone stared at her in silence.

Melody and her mates all looked confused. “Helios and Selene… they told me who I am and why I had been kept away until now.” She said. Looking towards her Mother and Papa… Karisma was worried they would think she was leaving them just because she found her blood family. Even though Hermes showed her their reactions to the news. It was a whole other story once it was out in the open.

Alpha Philip and his mate both moved towards Karisma’s side. “Little one, you don’t have to worry about anything. You are and will always be our daughter. Blood does not change how we feel.” Philip said as he nuzzled his little girl. Elsa wrapped her arms around her daughter and kissed her cheek over and over.

would do you and Winter some good to be around your birth parents.” Her mother said. Karisma smiled at

that. Her mother was always looking out for what was best for her, Angela, and Winter.

Philip then looked down at her wrists and frowned. “What are these?” He asked. Everyone’s gaze fell on

the marks. “I think these are the marks that were left after I received Athena and Ares‘ blessing.” Karisma

said as she held up her wrist to look at the pattern that went around it like a bracelet.

“Athena and Ares?” Melody asked. Karisma nodded. “Yeah. The Greek gods of wisdom and war.

Apparently, it was their blessing that gives the Mother Royal her powers… though mine won’t show until I

train more.” She answered with a frown.

She had less than a week to train well. There was no telling how this blessing would be after her first shift.

“Alright. We can help with training. School might be put on hold for now.” Melody said while tapping her

chin. Karisma looked up and smiled with relief. She was glad that she wouldn’t have to do everything
