Chapter 42: Alpha Training with an Alpha
Third Person POV:
Suddenly, there was a knock on the door.

“Who could that be?” Melody wondered as she went to the door. No one should be interrupting them.
Once she opened the door, she was shocked to see Jasmine and Estarossa standing outside the door.
“Jasmine! When did you get here?” Melody asked. Last she knew, Jasmine was taking care of some alpha business in Edolas. Jasmine bowed in respect before silently asking if she could enter.
Melody nodded and allowed them to enter before closing and locking the door again.
“Sorry for just dropping in, but I rushed back as soon as Estarossa told me that our lost princess had finally been returned to us.” Jasmine said as she stepped closer to Karisma. With a smile and a bow,
Jasmine greeted her.
“It is wonderful to see you are well, little princess.” Jasmine said. She had always hated that she didn’t act
fast enough to save her that night, but let faith decide when the time was right. Karisma stood in shock.
She had seen little of Alpha Jasmine as she didn’t like being in the public eye a lot, mostly because she had to use magic to change her eyes, but her strength and power were known far and wide. Karisma actually looked up to her as her personal role model.
Since becoming the luna of the Raven Moon pack, she has helped small packs be able to expand in healthy ways. Karisma noticed a burn scar that ran across Jasmine’s eyes, though from how her eyes still shone, she could tell that she was not blind.
“Jasmine?” Luca asked. He knew that Jasmine would not have shown up if it were not important. “Don’t worry, Luca. I am here to help Karimsa.” Jasmine said. Karisma frowned. How did she know her name?
Jasmine smiled at her and pointed to Estarossa behind her. “My twin brother told me your name when he contacted me about you returning to us.” She answered her unasked question. Karisma stared behind her. She knew that Estarossa and Jasmine were siblings, but she didn’t know that they were twins.
Karisma was looking back and forth between the siblings in shock. Estarossa shrugged his shoulders. “It is not common knowledge about us being twins. That is mostly a family–known thing.” He said it like it
didn’t matter. To him and Jasmine, it honestly didn’t.
Then Melody got an idea. “Jasmine, would you be able to train Karisma, like you trained us?” She asked. Jasmine smiled. “Yes and no.” She answered while picking up Karisma’s wrist and studying the mark on it.
Meeting Karisma’s gaze, Jasmine spoke again.
“I will be training you, but because your role is far more important than your mother’s role was… we will be going to the Blazeheart Dominion.” she said. Karisma tilted her head to the side. “Blazeheart Dominion?” She asked. Jasmine stood up and nodded her head. “Yes. It is the kingdom of dragons.” she said.
Melody came closer and grabbed Jasmine’s arm. “But I thought you said that the dragon kingdom was

closed off to outsiders?” She said in a panic. When Melody, her mates, and her brother first went to Edolas, Jasmine and her alpha guard made it clear that the dragon kingdom was not to be messed with and that they should never cross the border.
Jasmine placed her hand on Melody’s to comfort her. “It is, but I have had a meeting with King Mathiras, myself. We do not have the luxury of time on our side. A storm is brewing, and we need to be prepared.”
Jasmine said.
That made everyone tense. Jasmine had a good sense of when trouble was coming, but she could never give exact times or dates. Everyone just trusted her and would begin preparing for the worst. Nine times out of ten, the bare minimum of casualties would come to pass.
“Sister, are you taking her to the caves?” Estarossa asked. Jasmine nodded. “What caves?” Karisma
asked.
Jasmine waved her hand, and blue flames appeared in the air. Forming a picture of what looked like a cave system. “There is a special cave system that resides in the heart of the Blazeheart Dominion. It is called the Caverns of Kronos.” she explained.
“The Caverns of Kronos?” Karisma asked. Estarossa stepped forward. “Yes. They are also known to be the sacred training grounds of the dragons. Time flows differently within the caverns. Hence, how it got its name.” he said. “What do you mean?” Philip asked.
“Time flows much more slowly inside the cavern. Meaning that one day outside the cave system is equal to about a month inside them.” Estarossa explained. Karisma perked up at that. “So that would mean that three days within the Carverns of Kornos means that I would have about three months of training?” She asked with a hope–filled expression.
Jasmine and Estarossa nodded. “Normally, outsiders would never even know about the caverns‘ existence, let alone use them for training.” Estarossa said, turning to his sister. “How in the world did you get permission from Dragon King Mathiras himself?” He asked his sister. Knowing her, she probably worked herself close to exhaustion to fulfill whatever she had promised in agreement.
Jasmine smirked at her brother. “I have my ways.” She said, not wanting to tell the whole story about training some of the dragon king’s elite warriors in return for using the caverns when she deemed necessary. “The caverns won’t harm Karisma when she is inside, right?” Elsa asked. She was not very educated on the topic of time dilation, but she did know that messing with stuff like that could have different effects on people.
Jasmine smiled at her and bowed in respect. “Nothing at all would happen to her there. Karisma is part vampire after all.” she answered. When Elsa and Philip didn’t look too convinced, Jasmine tried again.
“Even though she is a hybrid and has a wolf spirit within her. She still has vampire genes, plus to becoming the new Mother Royal of the vampires… I would say her vampire side may be a bit dominant ” Jasmine
stated.
Philip and Elsa both nodded, as it was not something that could be argued with. Until her first shift, Angela

was the more dominant side between her and Winter.

“Since time does not affect vampires like it would a werewolf, then she will be alright.” Jasmine said.”
How are you so sure?” Elsa asked. It was not that she didn’t trust Alpha Jasmine to protect and train her daughter, but something like the Carverns of Kornos just didn’t feel like something people should mess
with. Even those in the supernatural world.
Jasmine smiled at Philip and Elsa. “I am part dragon. So time has the same effect on me that it has on a vampire.” She said. “Have you ever entered these caverns?” Philip asked. Jasmine was honest and shook her head. “Then how can you be certain?” he asked.
“Because I have spent a whole year in a place much worse than the caverns. A place called Purgatory.” She answered. Philip and Elsa gasped. Melody, Drake, Jeremiah, Luca, and Sabrina all knew about
Jasmine’s year stay in that weird dimension that was between all worlds.
Purgatory was a place that was hot and cold at the same time. Normal living things couldn’t even stand
being there for a short time, as one minute in the normal world was a whole year in purgatory.
Those who usually enter never return as they turn to dust from the dilation of time, or they are torn apart by the many demonic creatures that wander the land.
Jasmine gave Philip and Elsa a confident nod. “I understand wanting to shield your daughter from the
horrors of the world, but unfortunately, we can not. Karisma has a destiny to fulfill. What is the best thing
for her, as well as yourselves, is to stand by her and believe she is strong enough to conquer this path that
the gods have sent her on.”
Philip and Elsa looked at one another before looking at Karisma. Elsa was the first to move to her daughter’s side and wrap her arms around her. “I knew I would have to let you go one day, but I was still not prepared for it to come so soon.” She said as she held her daughter close.
Pulling back, she looked down into Karisma’s eyes. “I know you, Angela, and Winter are all very strong. I will always be in your corner.” She said, while trying to hold back her tears. She wanted to be strong for her
daughter, but no mother ever wants to let their children go.
“Just make sure that you visit home as often as you can.” She added, before pressing a gentle kiss to Karisma’s forehead. Karisma smiled as she agreed to her mother’s requests. She always knew that even if meeting her mate took her away from the Starlight pack, then she would always make a monthly trip to
